In his role, he supervises a group of more than 35 employees and is involved in all parts of projects, closely overseeing due diligence processes. He also dedicates significant time to training and preparing his staff to meet client needs effectively.

Before being promoted to his current role, Mr. Hinz served as a senior manager from 2019 to 2024. Prior to joining Plante and Moran PLLC, he was a senior manager at BDO Consulting's Valuation Services from 2017 to 2019 while concurrently contributing as a manager of fixed assets of valuations and business analytics at BDO USA LLP from 2015 to 2019. His career also includes a tenure as vice president at Duff and Phelps in 2015. For the preceding two years, he was a senior consultant of machinery and equipment valuation at American Appraisal Associates, following his initial role there as a consultant from 2009 to 2013.

Mr. Hinz's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in economics from Illinois State University, which he earned in 2003. Additionally, he holds the designation of Accredited Senior Appraiser from the American Society of Appraisers. Furthering his industry expertise, he also serves as a member of the American Society of Appraisers and is a discipline committee member for the machinery and technical specialty division of this group.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hinz is most proud of establishing the group that he now oversees at Plante and Moran after being recruited by the company for his expertise. His extensive experience across diverse industries has afforded him valuable insights into domestic and international production.
