Ms. Alteri, president and founder of Capital Health Consulting, has dedicated her career to health care and government relations. With a background as a registered nurse, she specializes in advocating for high-quality patient care and represents companies and providers committed to delivering excellent services. Her team offers field training for medical staff, identifies and addresses problems within health care facilities and manages multiple associations, including those representing dermatologists and plastic surgeons.

Ms. Alteri's career began at the age of 15 when she worked at a retirement home in the kitchen and dining room as a waitress for the residents. She continued this work every weekend for five years while attending high school and college. In 1986, she started her professional journey as a registered nurse at a nursing home in Albany County, where she worked for 14 years. Initially serving as a bedside nurse, she quickly advanced to leadership roles, such as assistant head nurse, clinical care coordinator, supervisor and administrator.

In 1999, Ms. Alteri was recruited by the New York State Department of Health through the Governor's Office. She was promoted to deputy director for the Office of Continuing Care, overseeing nursing homes, adult homes and home care. During her tenure there, she played a pivotal role in developing the nursing home hotline, quality assurance program and surveillance training academy for these facilities. One of her most notable achievements was opening the first pediatric ventilator program in New York State within a nursing home.

Following her time with the Department of Health, Ms. Alteri joined SigmaCare in 2007 as executive vice president of health policy initiatives. Under her leadership, the company expanded from 11 clients to over 60. She then worked as a lobbyist with Ostroff, Hiffa and Associates Inc., representing SigmaCare before joining Whiteman Osterman and Hanna as president of Health and Human Services WOH Solutions from 2013 to 2016.

Ms. Alteri's educational background includes an associate degree in nursing from Maria College and is certified as a registered nurse. She attributes her overall success to overcoming numerous challenges in life and receiving encouragement from her grandparents who taught her resilience. Her children also serve as her inspiration and driving force behind her actions.

Ms. Alteri is also a member of several industry-related organizations, including the Saratoga Chapter of Women Presidents Organization, and is a former member of the Nurses Association, the Long-Term Care Community Coalition, the Albany County Drug Test Board and the Opioid Test Board. She has further contributed to the field through her various publications and has authored articles several on COVID-19.

In recognition of her accomplishments, Ms. Alteri has received several Commissioner's and Governor's Awards from the New York State Department of Health and an award for substance use work from Albany County. Outside her professional life, she is actively involved in civic organizations, serving on the board of trustees for Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center since 2008 and as a board member of Northern Rivers.

Outside of her career, Ms. Alteri enjoys gardening, exercising and spending time with her family. Looking ahead, she aims to find a balance between her career and personal life by bringing in a partner to grow Capital Health Consulting , wanting it to remain a valuable resource both in New York and nationally when she retires.
