Dr. Grover's academic journey began with a master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, polymer engineering and biomedical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, India, in 1998. He then earned his PhD in drug discovery and biomedical magnetic resonance from the Central Drug Research Institute in Lucknow, India, in 2004 and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in chemical biology and immunology at Scripps Research in 2007 after immigrating to the United States.

Throughout his career, Dr. Grover has been recognized for his contributions to science and medicine. He received fellowships from Richard Lerner at Harvard Medical School and Savannah College of Art and Design and was awarded the Marie Meyer Scholarship to develop a skin cancer vaccine.
