Dr. Nesnick, an esteemed educator and leader, has dedicated her career to fostering effective teaching, learning and development. Since 2014, she has served as a faculty development consultant and workshop presenter at Victoria Nesnick's Faculty Development Consulting, with a focus on higher education, where she leverages her expertise to enhance educational practices. As a subject matter expert, Dr. Nesnick assists faculty and administrators in addressing daily concerns and problems associated with the teaching-learning process. She works closely with them to help them become more effective in their roles, offering both individual and group consulting. Believing that individuals learn best in simplified manners, Dr. Nesnick endeavors to make learning easier, more effective, and to help others retain information for longer periods. She has given workshops nationwide including, but not limited to, Howard University, Washington, DC; US Merchant Marine Academy, NY; University of La Verne, CA; Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, NY; Collin College, School of Nursing, TX; Bladen Community College, NC; and Christine Valmy International School of Esthetics & Cosmetology, NJ.
Apart from her role as a consultant, Dr. Nesnick taught academia as an adjunct assistant professor at Hofstra University in the School of Education in Hempstead, New York. She began teaching on campus in 2005. At Hofstra and other universities, she has designed and taught a total of 24 different online and in-person courses, including Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, The History of Education in the United States, The American School, The Teaching-Learning Process, and The Family as Educator - Multicultural Dimensions.
As the founder of The Kids Hall of Fame, Dr. Nesnick serves as its chief executive officer and website developer, and is instrumental in creating platforms that celebrate the extraordinary achievements of individuals by age, prior to age 20. Her work has emphasized the significance of inspiring and empowering children of all ages, spotlighting and celebrating their extraordinary achievements, and creating a place to archive and showcase them. Dr. Nesnick decided to retire early from her teaching position with the Bethpage School District on Long Island, New York, to establish The Kids Hall of Fame in 1997. She taught for the district from 1967 to 1997.
Among other noteworthy roles, Dr. Nesnick excelled as the associate dean of instruction at the Institute of Audio Research in NYC from 2012 to 2013. Her academic contributions also included her tenure as an adjunct instructor at Kaplan University in the Graduate School of Education between 2010 and 2013. Dr. Nesnick's leadership extended to Five Towns College in Dix Hills, New York, where she served as deputy chair of the childhood education division from 2007 to 2008 and as a student teacher supervisor, student academic advisor and professor between 2005 to 2008 and earlier roles in the Nanuet School District and Saint Dominic's Home for Children.
In addition to her primary roles, Dr. Nesnick has contributed significantly through various other positions. She was a faculty mentor at Yeshiva University in 2019 and 2023, a mentor at Long Island University in 1990 and worked on staff development and research grants for Bethpage Schools between 1986 and 1988. Additionally, she has been a lecturer, workshop leader, in-service instructor and seminar presenter throughout her career.
Dr. Nesnick's academic credentials are extensive. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 1966, a Master of Science from Queens College in 1974 and a Doctor of Education in educational administration from Hofstra University in 2006. Her certifications include being a permanent certified school district administrator, supervisor and advanced studies teacher for nursery through grade six in New York.
A prolific writer and researcher, Dr. Nesnick created "Parental Influence on Kids' Extraordinary Achievements: A Grounded Theory" which was the topic of her doctoral dissertation. Dr. Nesnick's literary contributions include authoring "Princess Diana: A Book of Questions and Answers" in 1988. She was also an author for several book chapters, enjoyed serving as a newspaper columnist for the Bethpage Newsgram, editor of several newsletters, and contributed articles to magazines, including Reflections Magazine. Besides her writing contributions, Dr. Nesnick was a national television interviewee on Princess Diana in 1989 and, from 1979 to 1982, a speaker for media and universities on issues concerning abused women. She notably served as an executive on the board of directors for the Coalition for Abused Women in Nassau County from 1979 to 1980, and has given presentations at colleges, universities, organizations, and on television and radio, against Domestic Violence/Spouse Abuse.
Dr. Nesnick's accolades include being named Woman of the Year by Long Island University and the Coalition for Abused Women in 1979. She also earned recognition as the No. 1 Author by Central Blvd. School in Bethpage in 1988 and received the Jenkins Memorial Award in 1989. Although she has achieved many career milestones, she is particularly grateful to have helped individuals recognize the significance of their actions and the value of sharing their experiences. As such, she often encourages others to view their journeys as role models, enabling them to unlock their true capabilities and realize their own potential.
