Dr. Raju, a psychologist with a doctorate in psychology from Argosy University, has dedicated her career to a unique combination of areas in military, federal, state, corporate and non-profit agencies. She holds several key positions in various agencies. Her current emphasis is serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As the Director at Desiroot Consultation and Services, she is leading the development and implementation of the overall organization's strategy, while scaling the organization to create a much needed service that is lacking in therapeutic treatment eligibility for services and resources, assessments, ensuring quality care while navigating the complexities of California's mental health system. Her expertise in executive leadership, paramilitary operations, mental health and cultural diversity and inclusion has been widely recognized in her field. Furthermore, her leadership style is characterized by a people-centric approach, fostering a team environment where individuals are encouraged to excel and surpass their own capabilities.

Prior to her current role, Dr. Raju served in the U.S. Army, where she gained valuable leadership and operational experience. Her military service inspired her passion for leadership and community service, which led her to pursue higher education and ultimately obtain her doctorate in psychology. Earlier in her life, she acted on this passion by founding a nonprofit organization in high school and actively volunteering for various causes, including supporting individuals with disabilities.

Dr. Raju's educational journey began with a master's degree in psychology from Argosy University in 2016, followed by a doctorate in 2018. In addition to her robust education, she attributes her success to her cultural upbringing and the struggles of the women in her family, which instilled in her a strong sense of resilience and determination. Watching the way that cultural norms contributed to her mother and grandmother making sacrifices, Dr. Raju decided she wanted to take control of her own life, knowing there would be no one to blame for her mistakes but herself.

As a member of the American Psychology Association, Dr. Raju is committed to advancing the field of psychology through her work and affiliations. She is passionate about volunteering, particularly with the homeless community and overseas charitable efforts in India. As a first-generation American Indian, she takes pride in giving back through the opportunities that come her way.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Raju enjoys choreography dancing in the Bollywood, hula and Tahitian styles. She is actively writing two books: one as a biography and another focusing on the intellectual and developmental community. Additionally, she intends to open multiple private practices catering to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, East Indian and Middle Eastern community, upper management, and to veterans, which will offer assessments, skills training in leadership and inclusion, treatments, family educational awareness, and crisis management.

In the upcoming years, Dr. Raju plans to bring back Teeyan Da Mela to Contra Costa County which focused on bridging cultural and generational gaps through multicultural art and dance, launch several Airbnbs and a podcast, along with opening care homes in California and across the country. She remains committed to delivering high-quality care with integrity alongside her selected team, addressing issues at the state level regarding patient treatment.
