WOODBURY, NJ, February 03, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Theresa Jane Rohlfing has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mrs. Rohlfing is a dedicated professional with a profound commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities. As the executive director of the Center for Independent Living of South Jersey, she has been instrumental in developing programs that promote independence and inclusivity. Her role involves offering job readiness training, independent living skills and advocacy to support clients in their personal and professional lives. Additionally, she engages in community outreach to raise awareness about available resources for people with disabilities and works with special needs children.

Prior to her current position, Mrs. Rohlfing served as a transition specialist at the same institution from 2010 to 2017. In this role, she focused on individualizing services to meet the unique needs of each community, drawing inspiration from her compassionate director, who emphasized the importance of tailored support. Her earlier career included teaching roles, such as a substitute teacher at Woodbury High School from 1998 to 2010 and a sixth-grade teacher at Paulsboro Public Schools for one year. During this time, she also managed the Rutgers Seeds to Success Program from 2002 to 2009, where she developed innovative programs for children with special needs.

Mrs. Rohlfing's educational background laid a strong foundation for her career. She earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in 2005 and an Associate of Applied Science in management and marketing from Rowan College at Gloucester County in 1988. Her K-8 teaching certificate further equipped her with the skills necessary to excel in education and advocacy roles. Beyond her education, she attributes much of her professional success to her wonderful team and staff.

Mrs. Rohlfing's journey into her field was influenced by her early experiences in management at McDonald's and Acme, during which time she sought to supplement her income through substitute teaching. She then discovered her love for education and desire to support younger generations in society. Now, she is an established figure in the nonprofit education sector and is a member of the New Jersey Association of Centers for Independent Living, the Disability Advisory Council and the Statewide Independent Living Council.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Rohlfing has been recognized for her achievements and contributions. She was honored with the Women to Watch award by South Jersey Biz in 2024 and received the Women's Achievement Award the same year. Furthermore, she was acknowledged by the Gloucester County Board of Commissioners as a Woman of Achievement in 2022.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Mrs. Rohlfing is deeply committed to fostering a nurturing family environment. She and her husband, Charles, Sr., have been together for thirty-two years and have two children. Their son, Charles, Jr., was recently married while their daughter, Jessica, actively engages in community service, embodying the values instilled by her upbringing. Living with Mrs. Rohlfing is her vibrant 93-year-old father, whose involvement in community initiatives continues to inspire her work ethic and dedication.

Looking ahead, Mrs. Rohlfing is focused on addressing critical issues, such as housing and transportation for individuals with disabilities. She aims to increase the availability of low-income apartments, and help people transition from homelessness to stable housing. Additionally, she is advocating for improved options and accessibility solutions to ensure inclusivity in public spaces and on public transportation.
