Currently a stockholder with the firm, Dr. Lee is proud to have made meaningful contributions in organic synthesis, bio-organic synthesis and organometallic chemistry and counts the development of new "cobalt-carbonyls catalyzed biscarbonylation of linear-alkyl and aryl halides chemistry" applied in pharmaceutical research, the commercialization of then the world's largest "perfluorinated aryl boron and borate cocatalysts/activators" and the commercialization of then the world's largest zirconocene single-sitecatalyst (SSC), which generated substantial revenue for Albemarle, among his most notable achievements.

Dr. Lee's impressive academic credentials and military service forged a solid foundation for his successful career. He earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from National Cheng-Kung University in 1970 before serving as a second lieutenant in the Chinese Air Force from 1970 to 1971. Subsequently, he pursued graduate studies and now proudly holds a Master of Science in physical organic chemistry from South Dakota State University in 1974, where he was a teaching assistant, and a Doctor of Philosophy in organic chemistry from Vanderbilt University, which he completed in 1978. Dr. Lee's postdoctoral work at Texas A&M University further honed his skills in both bio-organic and organometallic chemistry.

Prior to joining Ethyl/Albermarle, Dr. Lee thrived in a series of university roles in the United States. He shared his knowledge as a graduate assistant at Vanderbilt University from 1974 through 1978 before progressing to be named a research associate of the chemistry department at Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University from 1978 to 1979.
