As the principal of Marquis Safety Systems since 2008, Mr. Marquis has been instrumental in leading organizational change initiatives. His expertise encompasses continuous improvement initiatives, change management, operational risk management, and loss control leadership.

Additionally, Mr. Marquis provides clients with essential processes and procedural development to drive change. He develops and implements safe work procedures through safety auditing, gap analysis, incident investigations and training programs, demonstrating his dedication to facilitating, educating, and mentoring workers and supervisors on safety protocols to ensure training effectiveness. His efforts in driving change management and continual improvement projects have significantly minimized lost-time incidents across organizations.

Alongside his efforts through Marquis Safety Systems, Mr. Marquis served as a construction safety professional and project manager at HazTek LLC for Amazon projects from 2022 to 2024. In this capacity, he managed safety protocols for large-scale construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards. From 2022 until 2023, he was a project manager and lead auditor for Amazon's 3PQA projects with HazTek Safety Management.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Marquis worked as a consultant and construction safety officer at Voith GmbH & Co. in 2012 and as a health, safety and environmental advisor at PepsiCo; Gatorade refit project from 2010 to 2011. His role as the HSEC superintendent at Société des Mines de Fer de Guinée in 2009 further solidified his expertise in high-risk activity management.

Laying the groundwork for Mr. Marquis's journey was his educational background, inclusive of a Bachelor of Business Administration from Collège Éducacentre in 2009. He has also earned several certifications that have bolstered his professional standing. These include an Associate Certificate in Leadership and Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute of British Columbia, certification in auditing from the BC Construction Safety Alliance, (CRM-E) Canadian Risk Management designation from Simon Fraser University, among others.

Mr. Marquis entered the field of workplace health and safety unexpectedly while assisting a friend with residential construction. This experience led him to discover the importance of health and safety programs through mentorship and self-study. As a member of the Risk Management Society and current Executive Chair Québec Regional Council of the Health and Safety Professionals of Canada (https://csse.org/), his commitment to lifelong learning has been a cornerstone of his success, driven by persistence and resilience.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Marquis has been heavily involved in civic-minded organizations, including serving as the co-chair for survivor development with the Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life from 2013 to 2014. Mr. Marquis also volunteered as a room host at the Global Speakers Summit in 2013 and participated as a pace bike and sweeper for the PMC-Sierra Science Fair Fun Run between 2012 and 2018. In addition, he contributed as a volunteer for Steps for Life from 2010 until 2011.

Looking ahead, Mr. Marquis aims to rejoin the speaking circuit with a focus on mental health topics after previously being involved with the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers. Furthermore, he is preparing for the release of his book and seeks greater exposure to it through future speaking engagements.
