Dr. Kerr's two decades in corporate law and consulting have been instrumental in his success.

In preparation for his career, Dr. Kerr graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Central Methodist University in 1988 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas A&M University in 1999. His educational journey is complemented by his active involvement in industry-related organizations. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Association of Professors and Universities and the Chinese Scholars Organization. Dr. Kerr was also re-elected as the Missouri Association of Faculty Senates president and recently concluded serving on the Coordinating Board of Higher Education's steering committee, where he was instrumental in developing a coordinating plan for Missouri higher education from 2016 to 2021.

Aside from his work-related ventures, Dr. Kerr has been active civically as a member of the Regional Business Council, president of the Linn Memorial Society and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and various church outreach activities. His commitment to community service underscores his dedication to making a positive impact beyond his professional endeavors. Additionally, Dr. Kerr maintains affiliation as the vice president of Sigma Alpha Chi.

Dr. Kerr's tenure at Fluence Global has been marked by a notable presentation to a high-level federal group at the White House in 2016, which received positive feedback from multiple federal agencies. His work has also been endorsed by a prominent global systems integrator based in Saint Louis, further solidifying his influence and connections within the industry. Additionally, Dr. Kerr's academic contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the Emerson Award for Excellence in 2014 and the Governor's Award for Teaching Excellence in 2015.
