He was also involved in product development, relating to extreme pressures, cryogenic temperatures, and critical seal applications, some of which were employed by NASA, in the Saturn IV-B, program. In his current position, as president of C3 Measurement Corp since 2019, he represents specific manufacturers of equipment, focusing on sales, distribution, and system design solutions. His role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of custody transfer processes, which are essential for the fiscal measurement of oil, gas and natural gas liquids. His contributions to this sector are underscored by his two patents related to custody transfer equipment, flow, and calibration systems, highlighting his innovative approach to improving industry standards.
Before his current position, Mr. Collins served as a custody transfer consultant at Coastal Flow Measurement Companies from 2016 to 2019. In this capacity, he provided expert advice on the design and implementation of custody transfer, measurement systems, ensuring fair and accurate transactions between companies. His technical expertise was further honed during his tenure as a technical product consultant, and regional manager, at Foxboro-Schneider Electric from 2008 to 2016, where he played a crucial role in developing solutions for complex measurement challenges.
From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Collins was principal and vice president at Densipro LLC, where he led initiatives for advanced techniques for drilling mud densitometers, and specialized metering products, to enhance product offerings and expand market reach. Prior to that, he worked as a technical consultant at Allesco from 2002 to 2005, providing valuable insights into the optimization of measurement technologies. His career began with a decade-long service in the Texas Army National Guard, including First Sergeant, which instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and commitment.
Mr. Collins' academic background includes petroleum, and mechanical, engineering, studies from the University of Houston. This education laid the foundation for his technical acumen and problem-solving skills, which have been instrumental in his professional achievements. He attributes much of his success to the personal relationships he has cultivated and maintained throughout his career.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. Collins is actively involved in civic activities, as a volunteer with Citizens on Patrol, which he initiated in his community, in 2006. He has also contributed to industry knowledge through his publication "Set your Sights on Accuracy" in Flow Control Magazine. His Life Memberships in the Instrument Society of America, the North Texas Measurement Association, and committee membership, in multiple MPMS, standards within the American Petroleum Institute, further reflect his commitment to advancing industry standards. He has developed advanced design criterion, relating to artificial gas lift, wet gas, and multi-phase measurement.
Outside of work, Mr. Collins is a father of two children and enjoys researching technology, industry trends, and working on additional patents. Looking ahead, he aims to prioritize training, and consultancy, emphasizing new technology, and safety in the oil patch. He developed a comprehensive, eight-hour training presentation, "OILFIELD BASIC TRAINING", with the goal of imparting valuable technical, fundamental, information to those in the oil and gas industry.
