Mr. Cross has dedicated over four decades to the nuclear energy sector, establishing himself as an expert in nuclear power plant operations and regulatory affairs. His career began in 1974 as a nuclear power supply planning engineer with the Tennessee Valley Authority, where he was involved in nuclear fuel cycle analyses and fuel supply contract bid evaluation. In 1975, Mr. Cross transitioned to the Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Plant as an operations engineer, where he played a pivotal role in ensuring safe plant operations. His expertise was further recognized when he obtained a senior reactor operator license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for Crystal River Unit 3.

Continually advancing, Mr. Cross became the nuclear licensing manager at Florida Power Corporation, overseeing regulatory compliance and licensing processes. He also founded Southern Technical Services Inc., marking a significant milestone in his career. As a consultant, Mr. Cross managed a team of over 50 professionals providing nuclear services at client sites and achieved operating licenses for Waterford 3, Comanche Peak and several other nuclear stations.

Mr. Cross continued to expand his prospects by founding Crosservices Incorporated in 2003, providing consulting services for start-ups, and developing business plans to get their enterprises up and running. He then joined Florida Power & Light as a nuclear projects engineering design basis supervisor, managing multimillion-dollar projects and ensuring compliance with federal regulations. Subsequently, Mr. Cross became a fleet regulatory programs manager at Florida Power & Light/NextEra Energy.

In 2016, Mr. Cross chartered WACross LLC, offering consulting services to Entergy Nuclear as a regulatory advisor. He retired from WACross LLC in 2018.

Mr. Cross's academic journey began at Indian River Junior College in Fort Pierce, Florida, where he earned an Associate of Arts before transferring to the University of Florida. There, he completed a Bachelor of Science in nuclear engineering, with honors, in 1974. His education laid the foundation for his successful career in nuclear energy.

Mr. Cross was recognized for his academic achievement with induction into the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and Epsilon Lambda Chi Engineering Honor Society. He also contributed to the American Nuclear Society Speaker's Bureau, sharing his insights on industry developments and future opportunities. Beyond these endeavors, Mr. Cross is committed to civic engagement and philanthropy. He regularly donates to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital and Tunnel to Towers Foundation. He contributes to the Notah Begay Foundation and the National Museum of the American Indian and supports his alma mater through donations to the University of Florida.
