Mr. Abuaf's remarkable career is marked with significant leadership roles, transformative achievements, and contributions to the financial services industry. Since 2018, Mr. Abuaf, a distinguished expert in wealth and investment management technology, has served as an industry partner at Motive Partners, a specialty investment firm focused on fintech growth and buyout investments. In this role, he sources and executes investment opportunities with a focus on strategy and growth for Motive Private Equity and Venture Capital portfolio companies. He plays a pivotal role in developing and executing value creation plans to help portfolio companies thrive post-acquisition. His strategic insights have been instrumental in guiding these companies through growth, transformation and various industry challenges. Notably, Mr. Abuaf led the carve-out of Tegra118 from Fiserv prior to its acquisition by InvestCloud and served on the company's board of directors. He has been the industry partner on several Motive investments, including InvestCloud, Advicent, RetireUp, BetaNXT, Mediant, CAIS, TIFIN AMP, and FNZ, and currently serves on the boards of TIFIN AMP and Wealth Access.

Before entering private equity, Mr. Abuaf built a long and accomplished career in management consulting. From 2016 to 2018, he was executive vice president and head of financial services consulting for Capgemini Consulting North America, where he played a key role in driving strategic initiatives. Prior to that, Mr. Abuaf enjoyed a seven-year tenure as a senior partner at Capco, a global management consultancy focused on financial services, ultimately rising to the position of chief executive officer of the Americas, where he led the company through a period of growth and innovation. Between 2007 and 2010, Mr. Abuaf served as president and CEO of CPM Braxis USA, a private equity-backed outsourcing firm. Under his leadership, the company expanded to over 6,000 employees through strategic acquisitions and was later sold to Capgemini.

Mr. Abuaf distinctive career also included a role as the managing director and head of global strategy and program management at Citi, a global bank, from 2005 to 2007 where he and his team developed strategies for over 130,000 operations and technology professionals.

His 21-year management consulting career was at Ernst & Young with various acquisitions and divestitures of consulting practices from 1984 to 2005. Starting as a junior consultant at McLean Group between 1984 and 1988 which was acquired by Ernst & Young, to partner and head of capital markets consulting at Ernst & Young between 1988 and 1999 to partner and head of all financial services consulting at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young between 1999 and 2005. As a management consultant he served major clients such as Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citi, Fidelity, Dreyfus, Prudential, Tiger Management and NASD. Mr. Abuaf was also the founder and leader of the E&Y Technology Incubator in partnership with AMEX and Merrill Lynch.

Mr. Abuaf's academic credentials underpin his professional excellence. He earned a Master of Science from Columbia University in 1984 and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in civil/structural engineering from the University at Buffalo in 1981. He was named to the Dean's List and inducted into the Chi Epsilon Honor Society. He later pursued executive education, earning a certification in artificial intelligence from MIT Sloan School of Management in 2018 and a strategy certification from Harvard Business School in 2007.

Mr. Abuaf's commitment to education and community service is further reflected in his belief in giving back and fostering growth within the industry. Since 2014, he has served as a board member of The Museum of American Finance.

In reflecting on his journey, he attributes much of his success to his humble beginnings, having arrived in the United States from Turkey with limited resources and working as a gas station attendant. Such early experiences instilled in Mr. Abuaf a sense of creativity and resilience—qualities that have been crucial throughout his career. He describes himself as compassionate, innovative, analytical, optimistic, personable, and a problem solver.
