During his tenure as CEO, Mr. Thiellen, with the help of his team, has led the charge to almost double the gross revenues of the firm. His journey with E & A Consulting Group Inc. began in 2006 when he joined as a land planner. Over the years, he has held various roles, including manager of the planning and platting department, manager of the landscape architecture department, and his current roles as principal and CEO.

Throughout his career, Mr. Thiellen is most proud of becoming an owner of the company, which was a long-standing goal of his. He also takes pride in building the planning department and transforming the business into a multi-million-dollar enterprise, achieving revenue growth of 22%.

Mr. Thiellen began his career in 2001 as a land planner with an engineering firm in Lincoln, Nebraska, gaining valuable experience in this role. He remained with the company until 2006, when he accepted an offer at an architecture firm in Omaha. His early career laid the foundation for his future success, allowing him to hone his skills in planning and design.

Mr. Thiellen has been actively involved in mentoring and coaching approximately 25 individuals, managing department heads and project managers, and engaging with clients to understand their preferences. He has also been responsible for creating technical training programs for young engineers and technicians, driving companywide processes and procedures, and solving complex problems at a high level.

Mr. Thiellen's commitment to excellence extends to his active membership in several industry-related organizations, including the Sarpy County Economic Development Corporation executive board, the American Institute of Certified Planners, and the Vistage executive board, of which he is a founding member. Additionally, he is involved with several state housing groups and the Housing Affordable Action Plan for Omaha.

Mr. Thiellen received a master's degree in community and regional planning from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2004 and a Bachelor of Science in horticultural and landscape design from the same institution in 2000. His academic background has been pivotal in shaping his career, providing him with a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical application. In addition to his education, he attributes his success to self-awareness and the guidance of mentors who were top-tier professionals within the industry.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. Thiellen is actively involved in civic-minded organizations, such as Welcome Home Inc., Papillion La Vista Schools mentorship programs and United Way. His commitment is further exemplified by his recognition as the National AICP Student of the Year by the American Institute of Certified Planners in 2004.

Outside of his career, Mr. Thiellen enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny, and their four children, playing golf, fishing and hunting. In the upcoming years, he envisions growing E & A Consulting Group Inc. organically and creating a training ground for young engineers, designers, surveyors and planners.
