Dr. McShane is also a committed civic leader. He has volunteered with Bay Area Scientists in Schools, designing engaging science curricula for elementary school students. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he taught a remote course on immunology and epidemiology to incarcerated learners through Mount Tamalpais College, continuing his long-standing commitment to science education.
