SYKESVILLE, MD, April 18, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William Francis Montgomery has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Mr. Montgomery, a retired engineer, has had a distinguished career marked by significant contributions to the fields of electronics and semiconductor industries. His professional journey began in the U.S. Army, where he served as a mechanized infantry platoon leader from 1979 to 1982. During his military service, he was stationed in Germany and ultimately achieved the rank of captain. This experience laid the foundation for his leadership skills and technical expertise.

Following his military service, Mr. Montgomery embarked on a career in engineering, starting with RCA in the mid 1980's. Over the course of a decade, he managed the design, building, installation and testing of electronic equipment and local area networks in classified environments. His work at RCA was pivotal during the early 1990s as the Internet began to revolutionize communication and business operations. He adeptly integrated state-of-the-art networking systems with older equipment, ensuring seamless transitions for clients.

In 1994, Mr. Montgomery joined National Semiconductor as a photolithography section head, where he honed his skills in process engineering until 2000. He then held various roles in the semiconductor industry, including positions at Allegro Microsystems, Axcelis Technologies, On Semiconductor and Micron Technology. At Northrop Grumman from 2014 to 2022, he led projects focused on establishing data collection and maintenance procedures for factory equipment in classified environments. The latter half of his semiconductor career was heavily involved in the realm of processing Data Collection and Analysis solutions.

Retiring in 2022, Mr. Montgomery has focused on rehabilitating and improving his farm and home.

Mr. Montgomery's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Capitol Technology University in 1992 and a Bachelor of Science in applied engineering with a focus on nuclear engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1979. He also completed leadership and management coursework at the United States Advanced Infantry Officer School in 1986.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Montgomery holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from ASQ obtained in 2011. His commitment to excellence is further evidenced by his recognition on the Commandant's (Dean's) List at the United States Infantry Officer School.

Mr. Montgomery attributes his success to his upbringing, which emphasized independence and integrity. Raised with a strong sense of responsibility, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, a distinction that followed him into his military and civilian career, where he was often referred to as a "boy scout." The values instilled by his parents have remained a guiding force throughout his professional journey.

Outside of his career, Mr. Montgomery is actively involved with the Irish Wolfhound Club Rescue Network, helping find homes for these large dogs. In his free time, he enjoys spending time on his horse farm and traveling extensively with his family. Looking ahead, he plans to explore new activities while maintaining his farm and traveling more frequently with his wife following her retirement.
