RALEIGH, NC, April 21, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Matthew L. Olesnevich, EdD, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Dr. Olesnevich has established himself as a distinguished leader in education, particularly in enrollment management, residential life, student wellness, athletics, communications, and marketing. Since 2023, he has served as the assistant head of school for student affairs at Saint Mary's School, overseeing the Dean of Students' office, health centers, counselors, activities, and overall wellness programs. He also manages residential life, including dorm heads and residential faculty. Under his leadership, student participation has increased by 207%, and enrollment has risen significantly, resulting in a waitlist for day students. His strategic initiatives have led to a 24% increase in incoming residential students and a 16% rise in overall enrollment.

Prior to his current role, he was the head of upper school at Admiral Farragut Academy from 2021 to 2023 and won the Tampa Bay Times Gold Award for Best Private High School. He also served as the athletic director from 2018 to 2021, winning two state titles. Dr. Olesnevich also held the assistant head of upper and lower school position from 2017 to 2021. His earlier career includes significant achievements at St. Joseph Academy, where, among many positions, he was the head football coach from 2013 to 2017. He led the team to an undefeated season for the first time in 150 years and a conference championship.

Dr. Olesnevich's career began at St. John Paul II Catholic High School, where he served as a social studies teacher from 2004 to 2008 before becoming the head football coach from 2006 to 2010. He led the team to its first-ever playoff appearance and was the athletic director from 2008 to 2010, in addition to being the girls head soccer coach, achieving five consecutive playoff appearances. His leadership extended beyond coaching, as he served as the dean of students and athletic director at Saint Francis Catholic Academy from 2010 to 2013.

His academic credentials are equally impressive, featuring an EdD with High Distinction in educational leadership from Liberty University in 2023, an MS in educational leadership from Barry University in 2009, and a BA in history from Saint Vincent College in 2004. Dr. Olesnevich's certifications include completion of the Prospective Heads Institute by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and Leading with Finance from Harvard Business School Online.

Dr. Olesnevich's professional journey is enriched by his involvement with industry organizations such as Kappa Delta Pi and Omega Nu Lambda. His civic contributions include serving on the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce advisory board since 2023 and representing private schools within the Florida High School Athletic Association on several occasions. He has been recognized for his leadership abilities with awards including numerous Coach of the Year honors and Who's Who Among College Students in 2003.
