In addition to his primary practice, Dr. Patel has launched four startups over the past four years, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit. Furthermore, he contributes to the medical faculty at ZOLL Respicardia and founded the TMS Institute of Arizona and Sip2Sleep® in 2022.

Dr. Patel's professional journey includes serving on the physician advisory council and medical faculty at Inspire Medical Systems since 2020 and as a scientific advisor for Eli Lilly in 2024. He has been a speaker for multiple pharmaceutical companies including Teva Pharmaceuticals, Eisai US, Arbor Pharmaceuticals, and Eli Lilly, and a consultant for Optum since 2019 and an investor in Akos MD since 2019.

Dr. Patel's academic achievements have significantly contributed to his success. He completed a visiting fellowship in transcranial magnetic stimulation at Duke University School of Medicine in 2020 and attended Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2019. His foundation in sleep disorders medicine was established during his fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in 2011 after completing his internal medicine residency at Henry Ford Health System in 2010. He holds an MD from the Royal College of Surgeons and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Rhodes College.

Dr. Patel is a third-generation physician and attended medical school in Ireland before moving to Detroit for an internal medicine residency. Initially intending to specialize in cardiology like his father, he shifted focus amid Detroit's mid 2000s challenges, completing his training and considering pursuing a MBA in health care. A family friend from Memphis, his hometown, suggested a career in sleep medicine. After his fellowship in sleep medicine, Dr. Patel found an opportunity for a full-time medical director position at a sleep clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Highly qualified, Dr. Patel's certifications include noninvasive brain stimulation from Harvard Medical School and international clinical TMS certification from Maastricht University. He is also board certified in sleep medicine and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and board certified in obesity medicine by the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Patel's civic involvement includes serving on the board of trustees for the Arizona Foundation for Medical Care from 2014 to 2023 and as a committee member for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine from 2020 to 2023. In his community, he has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and soup kitchens.
