As an Anishinaabe dental outreach specialist and consultant with Delta Dental Plan of Michigan Inc., she has dedicated himself to improving dental health within this community. Dr. Rickert's ability to authentically connect with the American Indian population is one of her most notable achievements, positively impacting their dental health.

Before joining her dental care facility, Dr. Rickert owned Whitepigeon Enterprises LLC from 2006 to 2023. Her entrepreneurial spirit was evident in her passion for providing fun, healthful, educational gifts for children through her company.

From 1975 to 2016, Dr. Rickert served as an Anishinaabe dental outreach specialist and dentist at Dr. Jessica A. Rickert, DDS, where she garnered tremendous success for over 40 years. Earlier in her career, she gained foundational expertise as the director of a dental clinic at the Children's Aid Society in Grand River, Michigan.

In preparation for her career, Dr. Rickert's academic background included earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan in the school of dentistry in 1975. Her professional journey has been complemented by her involvement in various industry-related organizations. She serves on the board of directors for the Society of American Indian Dentists and as a member of the multicultural oral health summit scientific committee within the Diverse Dental Society. Additionally, Dr. Rickert contributes to the diversity council of the Michigan Dental Association and is a member of the American Dental Association, the International College of Dentists and the American Dental Education Association.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Rickert is actively involved in civic associations, including the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America and several musical societies, local libraries, food banks National Public Radio (WIAA) and numerous Native American newspapers, including Native News Online.

Dr. Rickert's accolades include being inducted into the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame as the first American Indian woman dentist worldwide in 2009. She was also recognized with the Ida Gray Award from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2021. Moreover, she received the Women in American History Certificate of Award from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the Enduring Spirit Award from the Native Action Network in 2022. Dr. Rickert attributes her success to her family's strong work ethic and resilience, values instilled by her Potawatomi heritage.
