Ms. Arms has established herself as a distinguished professional in the field of safety and risk management, with a career spanning over two decades. Her most recent role was as director of global product safety risk at Whirlpool Corporation from 2019 to 2023. In this capacity, she transitioned from managing industrial product safety at GE to a consumer-focused role, where she adeptly managed the complexities of risks associated with home appliances. Her responsibilities included managing equipment safety, addressing critical issues promptly, and responsibly engaging with regulatory bodies such as the Consumer Product Safety Commission. She also led a global team across various product areas, including refrigeration, laundry and cooking, while balancing immediate problem-solving with long-term strategic planning.

Prior to her tenure at Whirlpool, Ms. Arms served as manager of EHS chemical and product stewardship at GE Corporate, Global Law & Policy from 2018 to 2019. Before this post, she was the executive engineering manager for product safety, technology and enterprise risk at GE Power from 2011 to 2018. Here, she was instrumental in evolving safety operations in the energy sector, including renewables and gas power plant technology. For the preceding six years, she served GE Power as a technical leader in product safety and human factors engineering. During this period, she also played a pivotal role in establishing the GE People with Disabilities Network within the company. Her career began as a process engineer at Jacobs Engineering.

Ms. Arms' academic foundation is rooted in a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Clemson University, which she earned in 2001. Beyond her education, she attributes her success to the unwavering support of her family and mentors, who have guided her throughout her career. Her proudest achievement has been accomplishing her goals while battling the challenges of multiple sclerosis for over 20 years.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Arms is actively involved in civic-minded organizations. She serves on the council for the National MS Society in Upstate South Carolina. Her distinguished career and dedication to community service are complemented by her recognition as Clemson University's Outstanding Young Alumnus in 2018.
