Ms. Muhlenbruch is a distinguished mental health professional and the owner of SOBT Therapy LLC, where she serves as a clinical and executive supervisor, licensed professional counselor, and marriage and family therapist. Her company derives its name from her children's initials, which she has also integrated into her mission statements. Deeply committed to fostering a supportive environment for her staff and clients, Ms. Muhlenbruch has been at the helm of her practice, overseeing operations and providing therapy to clients since 2022.

In addition to meeting with clients to provide mental health services, Ms. Muhlenbruch's responsibilities include coordinating care with clients' representatives, maintaining communication with her patient care coordinator, completing documentation in her clients' charts and writing evaluations for her supervisees. She also conducts weekly one-hour meetings with each of her supervisees and verifies the documentation in their clients' charts. Ms. Muhlenbruch's financial tasks include managing payroll, verifying billing with insurance companies for services rendered by all SOBT Therapy providers, and verifying insurance and out-of-pocket payments for those services.

Before establishing SOBT Therapy, Ms. Muhlenbruch gained valuable experience as a therapist and counselor at various institutions. She served as a licensed professional counselor candidate at 1st Priority Institute for Better Living from 2020 to 2022 after beginning her journey in mental health in 2019 with Experience Change, where she honed her skills in trauma therapy and evidence-based practices.

Ms. Muhlenbruch's career is rooted in her extensive military background. She retired as a senior captain from the U.S. Army after 24 years of service, including 21 years of active duty. Her military tenure included roles as a logistics officer from 2004 to 2016 and a medical supply specialist and non-commissioned officer from 1992 to 2002. During her service, she was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq, where she led operations in challenging battlefield settings and commanded a company that provided logistical support to a brigade combat team located in different areas of Regional Command-East in Afghanistan. While serving in the military, she saw the need for mental health services and decided to practice as a mental health professional after her military retirement.

Educationally, Ms. Muhlenbruch earned a Master of Science in marriage, couples and family counseling from Walden University LLC in 2019. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in communications from Columbus State University, obtained in 2004, and an Associate of Arts in general studies from Central Texas College, completed in 2000.

Ms. Muhlenbruch's dedication to mental health is further exemplified by her membership in several industry-related organizations, such as the Association for Play Therapy, the American Art Therapy Association, the National Board for Certified Counselors Inc. and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She employs different forms of therapy, such as EMDR, play therapy, art therapy and others to treat numerous mental health conditions, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity and personality disorders. She also provides services in couples therapy and family therapy. Her vast knowledge and expertise in these areas has earned her recognition.

Ms. Muhlenbruch has received numerous awards for her professional accomplishments. Her military service earned her the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Bronze Star, a Meritorious Service Medal, several Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals and Army Good Conduct Medals. Additionally, she received a Meritorious Unit Commendation, a National Defense Service Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, an Iraq Campaign Medal, a Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, an Army Service Ribbon, an Overseas Service Ribbon, and a NATO Medal. In 2024, she was featured in CanvasRebel Magazine and Shoutout Colorado, highlighting her role as owner, clinical and executive supervisor, and therapist at SOBT Therapy.

Born in Panama City, Panama, Ms. Muhlenbruch is the youngest of seven siblings and draws inspiration from her family's achievements. Her mother immigrated to the United States from Panama in the 1980s to provide a better life for their family, instilling values of perseverance and determination. Ms. Muhlenbruch's children continue to motivate her as she balances her career with family life.

Outside of work, Ms. Muhlenbruch enjoys spending time with her family, weight training at the gym, going for walks or runs, attending church services and conversing with her sisters. A former competitive bodybuilder, she remains committed to personal growth and well-being. Looking toward the future, she aims to expand SOBT Therapy's reach across Colorado and other states to improve access to mental health services for diverse populations, including those identifying as LGBTQ+ and those who do not have the privilege of easily accessible mental health services who are seeking support through telehealth solutions.
