His leadership has also been instrumental in developing several nationally and regionally recognized transportation solutions acknowledged by the American Council of Engineering Consultants. Adding to his responsibilities, Mr. Bittner began serving as the director of strategic initiatives in 2024, where his focus is the formulation of strategies for transformative projects, emerging markets and services, and new or enhanced technology applications. He engages in various tasks, including traffic engineering, stakeholder engagement and deploying technology elements like intelligent transportation systems and artificial intelligence.

From 2015 to 2020, Mr. Bittner was the traffic engineering department manager at KLJ, responsible for building a traffic engineering department and a transportation planning group that grew to approximately 20 individuals. His career began as an engineering intern with the City of Fargo in 2007, followed by his role as a traffic engineer and transportation planner at KLJ from 2010 to 2020. Throughout his career, Mr. Bittner has been committed to ensuring safe and efficient transportation solutions.

Mr. Bittner's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of North Dakota in 2009 and a Master of Science in civil engineering with a focus on transportation engineering from North Dakota State University in 2010. His academic achievements have been foundational to his success in the field, providing him with the technical expertise necessary for his various roles.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Bittner holds several certifications, including professional engineer, professional traffic operations engineer, professional transportation planner, road safety professional and project management professional. Additionally, he has a credential through the International Municipal Signal Association Level II, underscoring his commitment to excellence and continuous improvement in his field.

Mr. Bittner's dedication extends beyond his professional life into civic involvement as a volunteer at his children's school, his church and local STEM programs. He has also served on various boards, most notably the Midwest Institute of Transportation Engineers Board of Direction. Giving back his time and effort to community causes has been very rewarding.

In light of his hard work, Mr. Bittner has received numerous accolades for his contributions to the industry, including being named Top Young Professional by Engineering News-Record Mountain Region.
