Dr. Dina's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Eastern Michigan University. She then pursued a Master of Social Work in social policy and evaluation at the University of Michigan, equipping her with the skills necessary for impactful policy analysis and evaluation. In 2012, she earned a doctorate in social welfare and social demography from the University of Washington, further solidifying her expertise in addressing complex social issues.

Her professional affiliations include serving on the board of directors for the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers and being a fellow of the American Academy of Social Work & Social Welfare. These roles underscore her leadership and influence within the field. Dr. Dina is also recognized for her scientific contributions to perinatal mental health disparities and community engagement, as well as her unique investigation into mixed-race individuals.

Beyond academia, Dr. Dina is a founding member of Sistering CU, an organization dedicated to supporting women in various capacities. She has also delivered a TEDx talk on the power of self-support to represent lived experiences. She believes that through knowledge, everyone can make significant societal progress.
