During her tenure, she made significant contributions to the company, culminating in her retirement. Her leadership and expertise were instrumental in launching Carlsmed's innovative products and gaining market share.

In addition to her role at Carlsmed, Ms. Liu served as a principal at Quality Solutions starting in 2018, where she provided strategic guidance and solutions for quality management. Furthermore, her role as director of quality engineering at NuVasive from 2006 to 2015 further solidified her reputation in the industry.

Ms. Liu's earlier career includes positions as a senior quality engineer at IntraLuminal Therapeutics from 2003 to 2006 and as a quality engineering consultant for various medical device and diagnostic companies for the preceding two years. She also held the position of principal quality engineer at Alaris Medical Systems from 2000 to 2001 and senior quality engineer roles at Mallinckrodt and Medtronic Interventional Vascular.

Bolstering her experience, Ms. Liu's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in materials engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She also holds several certifications that underscore her expertise, including RAC-DEVICES from the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, EU MDR Auditor from Exemplar Global Inc. and lead auditor from The British Standards Institution. She is also certified by the American Society for Quality as a manager of quality and operational excellence and a quality engineer.

Furthering her expertise, Ms. Liu is actively involved with industry-related organizations, such as the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society. She is also a senior member of the American Society for Quality. Her dedication extends beyond her professional life through her association with various nonprofit organizations, including the San Diego Zoo, Georgia-based Project Chimps, San Diego Humane Society, and several local nonprofit news media.

In her personal life, Ms. Liu has a passion for wildlife conservation, animal welfare and data-driven journalism. She is currently on the board of inewsource, a San Diego nonprofit investigative newsroom. Looking ahead, she aims to venture into space, having already explored nearly every corner of the globe.
