KAILUA KONA, HI, April 25, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bill A. Armijo, MS, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Armijo has built a distinguished career as the president of Trans World Metals Ltd., where he has led the company for over 38 years. Under his leadership, the firm has become a prominent nationwide broker-dealer of precious and strategic metals. Mr. Armijo and his son Justin Armijo, his partner and vice president, oversee all operations, facilitating the trading of physical precious and strategic metals for both private investment and industrial applications. His expertise extends to being the exclusive dealer in Hawaii for several esteemed mints, including the United States Mint, the Holy Land Mint of Israel, the Mexican Mint, the Osborne Mint, and the Perth Mint of Western Australia. He also manages a wholly owned subsidiary, Hawaiian Art and Gallery, and is the chief executive officer of Trans World Metals Foundation Inc., whose mission is "To Benefit the Children, People, and Culture of Hawaii through The Arts."
Mr. Armijo's career began as a California certified EMT paramedic through the Long Beach Fire Department and Harbor College Long Beach, where he gained practical experience riding Long Beach Fire Rescue's Bower's Ambulance and providing life-saving emergency medical services at the Torrance Memorial and Harbor General Hospital emergency wards. He later transitioned to the steamship industry, managing gate operations for Matson Inc. in Los Angeles. His role involved overseeing 3,000 containers daily between Hawaii, Polynesia, Asia and the mainland U.S. Subsequently, Mr. Armijo was recruited by the Singapore government to help establish Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) in Long Beach, California, challenging established steamship lines in serving key Far East ports.
In addition to his work in shipping, Mr. Armijo ventured into strategic metals trading. He initially traded strategic metals for companies in Newport Beach and Century City, California, before founding Trans World Metals Ltd. in 1986. His company has since established itself as an authorized dealer for the United States Department of the Treasury through The U.S. Mint Authorized Bulk Purchase Program. It is also an authorized supplier for The United States Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and thirteen of the world's major aerospace companies. Mr. Armijo's strategic collaborations with The United States Department of Defense Office of Strategic Capital (OSC) and a Frankfurt-based firm aim to expand access to strategic metals for private investors in the U.S.
Trans World Metals Ltd. has continued to diversify by offering Precious Metals IRA and 401k retirement plans as an authorized broker/dealer for four U.S. Trusts and as the only dealer of the new "Goldback Currencies" in Hawaii. The company also forms co-brokerage agreements to mentor newcomers in precious metals trading and establishes partnerships with jewelry stores nationwide. The most recent expansion took the company into real estate through a collaboration with Intero Real Estate Services, a Berkshire Hathaway Affiliate.
Highly educated, Mr. Armijo holds an Associate of Arts in political science from El Camino College in Torrance, California, dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and political science from Sonoma State University and a Master of Science in educational guidance counseling from California State University in San Bernardino. He is a licensed counselor in the state of Hawaii.
Civically minded, Mr. Armijo has organized benefit concerts and helped raise thousands of dollars for victims of the Maui fires. He has also raised funds to cover medical expenses for a critically injured high school football player and to support Shriners Children's Hospital in Honolulu. Through Trans World Metal's subsidiary Hawaiian Art and Gallery, he and his son sponsor art camps for children across multiple Hawaiian islands. Mr. Armijo has also been affiliated with organizations such as the Hawaii State Teachers Association, where he served on the board of directors, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
Mr. Armijo plans continued expansion in both his business and philanthropic initiatives. In addition to continuing to develop art and career pathway programs for youth in Hawaii, he envisions creating community art centers, an equestrian facility for children with disabilities, and an automotive center in collaboration with another foundation. As a licensed counselor, Mr. Armijo remains dedicated to advocating for policies that support school counselors and contribute to shaping Hawaii's youth, who are, ultimately, Hawaii's future.
