A seasoned business development and strategic planning expert, Mr. Webb has been the president of The Webb International Group LLC in Allen, Texas, since 2009. In this role, he focuses on consulting for strategic planning, business development, and total cost of ownership savings for maintenance, repair and operations. He is also involved in sales and marketing for the patented PGT300 PierceSafe Hydraulic Cable Piercer, catering to utilities, mining and heavy industrial sectors. He also consulted for Graybar Electric Supply Co. in 2009, and joined the company as a Strategic Accounts Manager in business development in early 2010 until his retirement in November 2015. His leadership has driven business growth and expansion across various companies throughout his career.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Webb was the director of national accounts at WESCO Distribution Inc. from 2000 to 2009. His tenure there was marked by significant contributions to the company's strategic initiatives. Before that, he served as president and chief operating officer at International Tool & Equipment Group Inc. in Leesburg, Florida, from 1998 to 2000. From 1995 to 1998, he was president of International Strategies in Mandeville, Louisiana, where he honed his skills in international marketing and sales.
Mr. Webb's earlier career includes roles such as director of international marketing and sales at Aearo Corporation from 1992 to 1995 and branch manager at Westinghouse Electric Supply Company from 1989 to 1992. He also held the position of president at Cook Electrical Supply Co. Inc. in Oklahoma City from 1986 to 1988. His experience extends to Koch Industries, where he was director of international sales and marketing from 1984 to 1986 and director of oilfield sales and marketing from 1983 to 1984. During his formative career, he was in positions of manager, business planning, marketing manager, and international sales manager for Cooper Industries from 1979 to 1983; he held positions of international business development, sales engineer, and product engineer at GE in various locations from 1969 to 1976, and as electrical project engineer with GM in Pontiac, Michigan from 1967 to 1969.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Webb is a member of several industry-related organizations, including Life Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Lambda Chi Alpha, and the Blue Key National Honor Society. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1967, followed by postgraduate coursework at Wayne State University, the University of Massachusetts, and the University of Minnesota. These educational experiences have been pivotal in shaping his strategic approach to business.
Mr. Webb's upbringing played a significant role in his success. Raised by his mother and an aunt and uncle after his father left when he was two years old, he learned the value of hard work early on by helping with his uncle's business. This foundation instilled a strong work ethic, which has been evident throughout his career.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Webb has been actively involved in civic organizations such as serving on the board of directors and as secretary for Suncreek HOA Inc. from 2019 until 2021, participating in the Collin County Grand Jury for six months in 2019, coaching for Wichita United Soccer Association, advising Junior Achievement in Indianapolis and soliciting for the United Fund in New York City. He is also an accomplished author with publications, including a novel, "Downfall and Freedom", and contributions to professional journals.
In his personal life, Mr. Webb enjoys music, writing, racquetball, tennis and swimming. Born in Huntington, W. Va., he married Helen Eileen Carr in 1968. They have three children: Katherine Colleen, Meaghan Elizabeth, and Emlyn Eileen. His diverse interests reflect a well-rounded individual who balances professional success with personal fulfillment.
