Dr. Ebikade has led procurement efforts with various producers to improve Southwest supply resilience and also spearheaded federal and state-level policy advocacy campaigns to enhance and expand clean fuel production incentives in the U.S. to unlock the production and consumption of large-scale SAF volumes. His expertise in SAF market developments and his presentations at premier industry conferences have established him as an accomplished expert in the field.

Before joining Southwest Airlines, Dr. Ebikade was a senior strategy consultant at Earth Finance Inc. in 2023, a Seattle-based consultancy. From 2021 to 2023, he worked as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group in Washington, D.C., conducting market analysis for the firm, among other tasks focused on climate and sustainability. Before that, Dr. Ebikade co-founded Lignolix in Newark, Delaware during his doctoral program, between 2019 and 2021, a clean tech startup where he was instrumental in making specialty chemicals from waste biomass.

Dr. Ebikade's academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Lagos in Nigeria in 2014, finishing with First Class Honors. This is where he began developing biofuel subject matter expertise, publishing his first research article on renewable natural gas production from industrial wastewater. He furthered his education with a master's degree and a Doctor of Philosophy in chemical and biomolecular engineering from the University of Delaware in 2018 and 2021, respectively, further strengthening his sustainable fuels technical expertise. Additionally, Dr. Ebikade holds certifications in machine learning from Coursera and several honor code certificates from prestigious institutions like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Actively involved outside of his work-related obligations, Dr. Ebikade has served as a board member for the Sustainable Aviation Futures North America Congress and as a technical reviewer for the Aviation Climate Task Force. He is also a member of several professional societies, such as the American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Dr. Ebikade's dedication to advancing sustainable fuels is further demonstrated through his role as an adviser to 4AIR as part of their customer advisory board and his involvement with the U.S. Sustainable Aviation Fuel Grants Working Group at Airlines for America.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Ebikade has made significant contributions to academia through more than 10 publications on biofuels that have been cited over 300 times.

Dr. Ebikade's research on waste valorization and biofuel production has been instrumental in his professional success. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his contributions to the field of biofuels, including securing two U.S. patents. Dr. Ebikade's work has also earned him recognition from the U.S. government for his exceptional skills in biofuels, which facilitated his acquisition of permanent residency in the United States and is a milestone he takes great pride in as an immigrant.
