MIRAMAR, FL, April 29, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Martha Isabel Wydra has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Dr. Wydra, a distinguished professional in the fields of nursing and domestic violence advocacy, currently serves as the deputy director of advocacy and mental health services at the Global Innovative Foundation for Transforming Society. She has held this position since 2023, bringing with her 14 years of experience in her profession. Adjacent to this role, she is also a talented critical care registered nurse at the University of Miami, a role she has excelled in since 2011.
Through her dedication to both healthcare and advocacy, Dr. Wydra has been instrumental in shaping policies and programs that support mental health and advocate for victims of domestic violence. Her journey into the profession was deeply personal; after enduring a tumultuous ten-year marriage marked by abuse, she made a solemn promise to her daughter to confront and overcome their challenges. This commitment inspired her to establish the Wings to Freedom Foundation, which has been instrumental since 2023 in helping her and others break free from harrowing ordeals. As the organization's chief executive officer, she provides crucial support and resources to victims, empowering them to rebuild their lives.
Dr. Wydra's academic achievements have played a significant role in her professional success. She earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) from Nova Southeastern University in 2024 and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Miami Dade College in 2007. In addition to this formal training, she attributes much of her success to her exceptional networking skills, which have allowed her to connect with influential individuals and build valuable professional relationships.
A leader among her peers, Dr. Wydra's contributions have been recognized through numerous awards, including the 2024 Clinical Excellence Award from Nova Southeastern University, the 2019 Daisy Award from the University of Miami, and Nurse Preceptor of the Year in 2020. She has also been honored with community involvement awards from President George Bush and various volunteer recognitions from Vitas Hospice and Miami Children.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Wydra is a dedicated mother to three sons and one daughter. She takes immense pride in raising her children with love, care, and dedication while building a fulfilling career that provides financial stability. In the future, she is committed to establishing a secure and supportive environment for individuals affected by domestic violence, raising awareness, and providing dedicated advocacy for those impacted.
