With 29 years of dedicated service, Mr. Hanson has established himself as a leader in law enforcement. He began his career with the Addison Police Department, where he remained for seven years before transitioning to the City of Marble Falls, Texas. In the 23 years since he has advanced through the ranks and currently serves as the Marble Falls chief of police. In this role, he oversees the police department's operations, budget and human resources. He also manages a command staff responsible for day-to-day operations, which allows him to focus on the political aspects of law enforcement. As a key liaison between the police department and city management, he works to enhance community relations and public safety initiatives.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hanson has been actively involved in industry-related organizations such as the Texas Police Chiefs Association, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. His most notable achievement is his work in crimes against children, where he dedicated nearly six years to advocating for vulnerable children and bringing offenders to justice. This challenging yet rewarding work remains a point of pride for Mr. Hanson.

Mr. Hanson's educational journey began at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where he initially pursued a career as a military aviator through the ROTC program. However, due to eyesight limitations, he shifted his focus to law enforcement after a chance encounter with a police department recruiter. He completed his bachelor's degree while working as a police officer on the streets, which laid the foundation for his future success in law enforcement.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Hanson is an ordained Christian minister who has performed numerous funerals and is preparing to officiate his first wedding ceremony. He looks forward to completing his degree in pastoral counseling after retirement to deepen his biblical knowledge and better assist others.

Mr. Hanson's commitment to civic engagement is evident through his involvement with organizations such as the Masons, Shriners and Rotary Club. His dedication to service has been recognized with several awards, including the Life Saving Award, Officer of the Year and the Meritorious Service Award. Recognizing that a solid support system is integral to achieving success as a law enforcement professional, he attributes his success to the support of his family and mentors. Additionally, he acknowledges that his faith has played a crucial role in his ability to perform his duties.

Outside his professional life, Mr. Hanson enjoys aviation and has spent five years building an airplane as a therapeutic outlet. He also relishes weekends spent at the coast in his RV. Looking ahead to retirement, he plans to slow down his pace while remaining involved in purposeful work that allows him to help others. He envisions reconnecting with aviation and spending more time with family and friends while staying open to where his faith will lead him.
