SPRING, TX, May 02, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jim DeLoach has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. DeLoach has established a distinguished career as a managing director at Protiviti, a global consulting firm renowned for its expertise in technology, digital, business operations, risk, transactions and internal audit. Since founding Protiviti in 2002 along with more than 50 former partners of Arthur Andersen, he played a pivotal role in driving the firm's growth during its early years as a start-up and has contributed significantly to the firm's development over the years since its inception. His leadership and strategic insights have been instrumental in helping organizations navigate complex risk, compliance and governance challenges with sustainable solutions. During his career, he has worked with companies and organizations in over 30 countries.
Before his tenure at Protiviti, Mr. DeLoach was a partner of long-standing at Arthur Andersen in a career that began in 1970. During this period, he honed his skills in accounting and reporting, internal controls, enterprise risk management (ERM) and organizational dynamics, culture and change, laying the groundwork for his future success. His extensive experience in these disciplines has been further enriched by his involvement with the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) Advisory Council for a decade, where he contributed to advancing best practices in ERM and internal control.
Mr. DeLoach's professional affiliations include membership in several prestigious organizations, such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPAs. He is also associated with the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Educationally, Mr. DeLoach's background includes a Master of Business Administration with a major in accounting from the University of North Texas, earned in 1970, and a bachelor's degree in business administration with a major in accounting from the same institution, obtained in 1969, graduating cum laude. Additionally, he holds an ERM Fellow certification from NC State Executive Education. Beyond his education, he attributes his success to a strong work ethic and a commitment to effective stewardship, always striving to leave a positive impact on those who work with him.
In recognition of his contributions to the field, Mr. DeLoach has received numerous accolades, including the Bette Stead Leadership Award from the Greater Houston Business and Ethics Roundtable in 2019 and inclusion on the NACD Directorship 100 list for Governance Professionals by the National Association of Corporate Directors for seven years from 2012 to 2018. He was also named one of 25 honorees as "Consultant of the Year" by Consulting Magazine in 2011.
Further contributing to his industry, Mr. DeLoach is an accomplished author with many publications to his name. His works include Enterprise-wide Risk Management: Strategies for linking risk and opportunity, published by Financial Times in 2000, the first book written on the topic of ERM. He has written Guide to Enterprise Risk Management: Frequently Asked Questions and Guide to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act: Internal Control Reporting Requirements—Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Section 404, among many others. A prolific writer, he has contributed to and published over 800 articles on corporate governance, disruptive change, managing enterprise risks and many other topics in the latter half of his career.
Early in his life, Mr. DeLoach lost hearing in his ears as a result of German measles, a condition that was later exacerbated by an incident in elementary school. Rather than enrolling him in a specialized school for the hearing-impaired, his parents kept him in the mainstream educational system. His mother ensured he received specialized care by taking him to a lip reading specialist several times a week after school. This pivotal choice not only broadened the opportunities available to him later in life but also played a significant role in shaping the person he has become.
Outside of his professional career, Mr. DeLoach is an accomplished magical entertainer and avid collector of antique magic apparatus. He is also a travel, golfing and sports enthusiast in his free time. He cherishes spending time with his family, including his children and grandchildren, and maintaining his civic involvement in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In his personal life, he is most proud of being happily married for almost 55 years. Looking ahead professionally, he remains committed to promoting good corporate governance and ethical business practices while continuing to support companies in managing change with robust risk management and internal control practices.
