Having served as a neonatal nurse practitioner (NNP) at Oklahoma Children's Hospital at OU Health since 2017, she and her NNP colleagues expertly manage the daily medical care plan of over 100 neonatal intensive care unit patients alongside a neonatologist.

In 2024, Mrs. Boozer expanded her APRN role by becoming an EPIC physician builder. This position involves working with the hospital's charting system to improve efficiency in documentation processes for pediatric care. Her contributions have been instrumental in guiding her department toward enhanced charting practices.

Prior to her current roles, Mrs. Boozer served as a neonatal nurse clinician at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center from 2016 to 2017. Her career began as a NICU registered nurse at Oklahoma Children's Hospital at OU Health from 2009 to 2016. During this time, she initiated a neonatal intensive care unit class for parents focused on car seat education and proper installation techniques, which made a significant impact on parents and continues to this day despite her role change within the company.

Mrs. Boozer's educational background includes a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a neonatal nurse practitioner, from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2017. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2009 after completing pre-bachelor's coursework at the University of Oklahoma in 2007. Her certifications include being a registered nurse and an advanced practice registered nurse with the State of Oklahoma, a certified nurse practitioner with the NCC, and a former child passenger safety technician (CPST) with Safe Kids Oklahoma.

Overall, Mrs. Boozer attributes her success to a strong foundation built during her nursing education and training under exceptional preceptors in the neonatal intensive care unit. Supportive managers have also played a crucial role by allowing her to attend conferences and stay up to date on advancements in neonatology. She has remained abreast of industry advancements through her memberships in the Academy of Neonatal Nursing, the American Nurses Association and the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, among other professional organizations.

Beyond her professional commitments, Mrs. Boozer formerly volunteered for car seat checks within the community, demonstrating her dedication to child safety outside the hospital. While she no longer holds a CPST certification, she remains an advocate for car seat safety and proper car seat use. In her personal life, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their dogs and partaking in various crafts like sewing, cross-stitching and creating wood flower arrangements.

Looking ahead, Mrs. Boozer aspires to join the EPIC neonatology steering board to further enhance neonatology care across the country by improving efficiency and practices within hospitals using the EPIC charting system. She also aspires to travel abroad and learn from her neonatology colleagues in other countries to stay abreast of the current and ever-changing world of neonatal medicine. She believes that understanding the unique nuances of neonatology compared to adult care and general pediatrics will allow her to continue to make significant contributions to her company and others in the field.
