SPRING, TX, May 07, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Darlene A. Lazard has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Lazard has dedicated four decades to the field of behavioral health, establishing herself as an expert in the discipline. As MULTI-D clinic chief, she oversees a team of eight civilian providers, including psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists. Her role involves delivering comprehensive behavioral health care to tri-service active duty, reserves and National Guard beneficiaries. A significant aspect of her work is focusing on the professional development of soldiers, guiding them from generalist officers to advancing one or two grades higher while becoming experts in their respective fields. This dedication to fostering growth and expertise in behavioral health is among her most notable achievements.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Lazard served as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army, where she gained extensive experience in military operations and leadership. Since 1984, her military service has been instrumental in shaping her career, providing her with organizational and planning skills that have been pivotal to her success. The values instilled by the military have contributed significantly to her accomplishments and enjoyment of her work.

Ms. Lazard's education includes a master's degree in social work and credentials from the American Board of Clinical Social Work as a licensed independent clinical social worker and a board-certified diplomate. She is also certified as a master addiction counselor, a designation granted by the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals. These scholarly achievements laid her behavioral health career foundation and equipped her with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel. Additionally, she completed the U.S. Army's Command and General Staff Officer Course through the agency's Intermediate Level Education program, further enhancing her leadership capabilities.

Her contributions to the field have not gone unnoticed. In 2020, Ms. Lazard was honored with the Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Inspirational Outstanding Military Leadership Award by the Honolulu Chapter of the NAACP. This accolade reflects her commitment to excellence and leadership within both the military and behavioral health communities.

In addition to the skills honed by her service in the U.S. Army, Ms. Lazard attributes her success to her mother for emphasizing the importance of structure. She feels that her own planning abilities have been instrumental as well, underscoring her view that structure is essential to developing a rewarding work environment.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Lazard is deeply committed to charitable work, particularly with displaced populations. She envisions starting a small nonprofit organization focused on helping those who feel forgotten, including survivors of sexual exploitation. Her plans include creating a support center for behavioral health that emphasizes emotional support and connection.

Ms. Lazard also expresses concern for the elderly and their loneliness, recognizing that many simply need companionship and assistance with everyday tasks. Inspired by programs in Texas where emergency responders check on seniors, she hopes to implement "reminiscent therapy" as a means of providing support and connection for this vulnerable population.
