Ms. Keen also collaborates with business and commercial banking partners to engage C-suite executives, showcasing the bank's Private Banking benefits and services.
Before joining UMB Financial Corporation, Ms. Keen was a vice president and senior wealth management banker at Wells Fargo from 2006 to 2024. During her tenure, she honed her skills in wealth management and client relations. She previously excelled as the director of strategic marketing, of the business and economic development division, for the State of Utah between 2000 and 2006. In this role, she played a pivotal part in attracting prominent companies to the state, making a significant contribution to Utah's economic growth. Ms. Keen's career began at First Security Bank as a bank teller, followed by a role at Zions Bank. Her early experiences laid a strong foundation for her future success in private banking.
In addition to her professional roles, Ms. Keen served as the executive director of Governor Michael O Leavitt's "Guest of State" Olympic program, for the 2002 Olympic Winter games, held in Utah; an opportunity that was influenced by her childhood introduction to politics through Franklin Knowlton, a lifelong mentor. This experience was instrumental in solidifying her leadership capabilities.
Ms. Keen's educational background includes a a General Associate of Arts from Weber State University in 1988 and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a minor in business management from the University of Utah in 1991. Her academic achievements were instrumental in her career progression, allowing her to bypass traditional management training programs.
Apart from her degrees, Ms. Keen's credentials include an insurance agent license for health, property, and casualty insurance from the State of Utah, issued in 2007, followed by nationwide mortgage licensing system certification in 2008, and Series 7 and Series 66 licensure from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in 2010. These credentials underscore her comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in financial services.
Ms. Keen's civic involvement is extensive. She has served as board chair for the Salt Lake Chambers "Women's Business Center" and "Go Red for Women" with the American Heart Association, among other roles. Her dedication to community service is also evident through her volunteer work with equine therapy for children with physical limitations through the "Freedom Riders," support for animal rescues and singing on a worship team at Alpine Church.
In recognition of her success, Ms. Keen's accolades included recognition with an Olympic Torch from Governor Michael Leavitt in 2002 for her contributions to the Olympic Program and the prestigious Pathfinder Award from the Salt Lake Chamber Women's Business Center in 2015.
