Currently serving as the district health and safety operations manager/community relations manager at United Parcel Service of America, Mr. Brown has established a distinguished career in community relations, health and safety, and human resources. In his role at UPS, he is responsible for addressing building compliance and employee issues, engaging with local politicians and mentoring individuals interested in transportation or community volunteerism. His commitment to safety and compliance is evident as he works closely with the engineering group to identify and correct risks, ensuring adherence to Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) standards.

Additionally, Mr. Brown has held dual roles as the health and safety operations manager and Houston community relations manager at UPS since 2016. From 2011 to 2016, he served as the district sponsorships, community relations and human resources manager at UPS, playing a pivotal role in enhancing community engagement and managing sports sponsorships with the NBA, NFL, MLS and MLB. His responsibilities include fostering community relations, event sponsorships and board placements for district presidents and staff across Texas and Louisiana.

Before joining UPS, Mr. Brown gained valuable experience as a business marketing manager at Hewlett-Packard (HP) from 1996 to 2001. In addition to his corporate roles, he founded and operated R. Brown Consulting from 2001 to 2003, further diversifying his management and leadership experience. During this period, he developed a profound understanding of community engagement through his work as a corporate partner of the Magic Johnson Foundation. Upon meeting Mr. Johnson, Mr. Brown gained a deeper appreciation of genuine engagement and understanding all aspects of successful business management.

Mr. Brown's foundational academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in business management from the University of Phoenix in 2007 and an associate degree in general academics from MiraCosta College in 1985. To augment his knowledge and qualifications, he is certified as a network administrator and is currently pursuing a CFC health and safety certification.

Known for his dedication to community service, Mr. Brown is extensively involved with various civic organizations. He has been a volunteer project organizer for Search Homeless Services/Houston Healthcare for the Homeless since 2006 and has served as a corporate sponsor and judge for Bridging the Digital Divide — which provides specialized workshops to support their "Reading by Five" initiative online — since 2010. Additionally, he has been actively involved with the Mayor's Office of Events in Houston and the Greater Houston Frontiers Club since 2013.

In recognition of his achievements in public service, Mr. Brown has received a total of 15 awards. These include the Community Impact Award from a local organization in 2025, and the Community Partner Award for his work with the Magic Johnson Foundation in 2001. He also won several accolades during his successful tenure at HP.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Brown enjoys traveling with his wife, son and daughter, playing basketball, watching stage plays and exploring new hobbies such as dancing and going to the beach. As he approaches retirement from UPS, he is considering a future in politics.
