Before establishing her consulting company, Ms. Gin served as the coroner for the Sacramento County Coroner's Office from 2014 to 2022. Ms. Gin's career began as a deputy coroner and medicolegal death investigator at the Sacramento County Coroner's Office, where she worked for over a decade, starting in 2001.

During her tenure with the Sacramento County Coroner's Office, Ms. Gin received a commendation from the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services for her exceptional contributions to forensic medicine. Her commitment to education was also acknowledged when she was named Teacher of the Year in 2018.
