Her expertise in disaster victim identification has assisted coroners and medical examiners across the U.S. Ms. Gin's career is marked by her pioneering work in introducing Rapid DNA technology for disaster victim identification in Butte County, California. This groundbreaking achievement was followed by her assistance in Santa Barbara County during a tragic boat fire, where the technology played a crucial role in identifying the victims.

Before establishing her consulting company, Ms. Gin served as the coroner for the Sacramento County Coroner's Office from 2014 to 2022. Her leadership and dedication were also recognized when she was the supervising deputy coroner at the coroner's between 2012 and 2014. Ms. Gin's career began as a deputy coroner and medicolegal death investigator at the Sacramento County Coroner's Office, where she worked for over a decade, starting in 2001.

In addition to her roles within the coroner's office, Ms. Gin has contributed significantly to academia as a professor at Phoenix University. Her teaching career has been gratifying, as she has enjoyed the opportunity to prepare the next generation. Ms. Gin has also served as a technical assessor for the American National Standards Institute's National Accreditation Board since 2022, further showcasing her expertise.

In preparation for her future, Ms. Gin received a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1996. She also holds a Master of Science in forensic science from the University of New Haven since 1999.

Ms. Gin is an active member of several industry-related organizations, including the American Board of Medicolegal Death Investigators and the International Association of Coroners and Medical Examiners. She is also a past president of the California State Coroners Association, reflecting her leadership and influence within the field.
