SAINT MATTHEWS, SC, May 16, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bruce Dale Monroe has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Monroe has dedicated over four decades to the field of technology and security, establishing himself as a leading expert in incident response. Currently serving as a principal engineer for the product security incident response team at AMD, he continues to leverage his extensive experience to address vulnerabilities that impact thousands of companies. His expertise is further recognized through his membership with the Vulnerability Response Team.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Monroe spent nearly three decades at Intel from 1992 to 2024. During this time, he played a pivotal role in managing industry-wide coordination events, particularly focusing on BIOS security systems, such as UEFI. One of his most significant achievements was orchestrating multiple coordination events related to BIOS security systems and convincing industry standards bodies to establish a response process for addressing vulnerabilities. His work on the Tianocore at Intel, where 98% of the development for EDK2 BIOS occurs, underscores his influence in ensuring robust security measures are in place.
Mr. Monroe's career began with the United States Navy, where he served from 1980 to 1992. Bolstering his professional qualifications, he holds several certifications that underscore his expertise in the field of information security as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and a Certified Ethical Hacker.
Mr. Monroe attributes much of his success to a collaborative effort with a colleague from Microsoft, with whom he contributed to coining the term "coordinated vulnerability disclosure." This approach allows researchers to work alongside vendors to address security vulnerabilities while providing companies the opportunity to rectify issues before public disclosure. He believes this nuanced process is crucial for protecting the entire ecosystem and prefers it over the previously used term "responsible disclosure."
Mr. Monroe's career contributions have been recognized through numerous awards, including 15 Division Recognition Awards from Intel and being named among the "30 Under 30" by the United States Navy. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is actively involved in civic-minded organizations, such as Intel Food Banks and initiatives aimed at helping the homeless.
On a personal note, Mr. Monroe is proud to be the father of two adult children who have pursued successful careers of their own. Looking ahead in his own career, he aspires to advance from his current position as a principal engineer to a senior principal engineer or even attain the title of fellow, while maintaining his focus on technical excellence rather than managerial responsibilities.
