WHITE PLAINS, NY, May 16, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Allison Thompson-Brown has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected based on current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all considered during the selection process.

A distinguished medical professional, Dr. Thompson has served as a senior medical director and global clinical pneumococcal program lead in vaccine clinical research and development at Pfizer since 2022. In these roles, she provides expertise in clinical development strategies for both adult and pediatric programs. She is responsible for developing comprehensive clinical development plans, driving clinical programs, and overseeing the clinical team at the program level. Her work ensures that studies are conducted in accordance with national and international guidelines and standard operating procedure requirements while aligning with clinical plans and timelines. Dr. Thompson plays a crucial role in bringing vaccines to licensure and oversees cross-functional teams that include physicians, non-clinicians, clinical scientists, and other stakeholders from different functional areas across the unit.

Dr. Thompson's earlier roles at Pfizer included director, MD, and clinical lead for the pediatric clinical core pneumococcal program from 2011 to 2022 and associate medical director MD from 2008 to 2011. She began her career in clinical research in 2007 to 2008, as a clinician MD medical monitor at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, which was later acquired by Pfizer. She began her non-clinical transition at CareCore National Group LLC, where she served as a medical director and consultant from 2006 to 2007, in utilization management.

Dr. Thompson gained valuable experience during her 20 years practicing community medicine in the Bronx. She served as a pediatrician and moonlighter at North Bronx Healthcare Network/Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital from 2002 to 2007. Additionally, she was an assistant clinical professor of pediatric medicine and attending physician in the department of pediatrics at North Central Bronx Healthcare Network/Jacobi Medical Center from 2002 to 2006. Her leadership skills were further honed as director of pediatrics at East Tremont Medical Center from 2001 to 2002.

Dr. Thompson's academic journey laid a strong foundation for her illustrious career. She completed her pediatrics residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2000 after earning her Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1997. Her academic pursuits began with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and pre-med studies from Williams College in 1991. She has also been board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2001.

Dr. Thompson has been recognized for her contributions with several awards, including a W.E. Upjohn Prize Award for furthering development of the Prevnar 20 vaccine in 2017 and then again in recognition for achieving proof of concept for both adults and infants in 2019 from the Pfizer Vaccine Leadership Team. She is also actively involved in civic activities as a donor to her local church, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, and local toy drive initiatives. She also served on the board of advisors of a national daycare, and as the Telehealth Pediatric Healthcare consultant with Bright Horizons, Inc. from 2010 to 2020. She currently volunteers at her daughter's school, where she enjoys reading to her daughter's second-grade class and performing community outreach.

When Dr. Thompson was a little girl, she aspired to become a veterinarian, but her goals changed course when she learned she was allergic to cats. Her mother, a pediatrician who practiced for over three decades and served as adjunct staff at Columbia University, significantly influenced her career path and served as an inspiration, along with other strong Black women in medicine. Throughout her journey, Dr. Thompson has received unwavering support from those around her, who helped her navigate her struggles and clarify her goals. Their perspectives and experiences provided invaluable guidance as she pursued her ambitions.

Dr. Thompson has made a global impact by collaborating with others to develop and distribute critical lifesaving vaccines that address unmet medical needs worldwide, and she is gratified by this remarkable accomplishment. Nevertheless, she cites the strong relationships she has built through mentoring and supporting individuals in their personal and professional growth as her most significant achievement. She attributes her success to being aware of what she knows and, more importantly, what she does not know. When Dr. Thompson encounters information she lacks, she actively seeks ways to learn or gain knowledge by researching and asking others with more expertise. Additionally, she is dedicated to her work and values collaboration with others.

In her personal life, Dr. Thompson treasures her time with her husband, children, family, and friends. She also enjoys tennis, outdoor activities, cooking, and board games. Looking ahead, she plans to maintain some focus in the vaccine therapeutic area. However, she is also eager to gain knowledge and experience in additional therapeutic areas, where her skills and expertise can make a significant impact. She is committed to advancing her career and aims to reach an executive leadership position. Additionally, she enjoys mentoring and hopes to guide incoming medical professionals in their careers.
