Ms. Kiffin Lewis is renowned for her expertise in mediation, arbitration, and employment law. She is the founder and managing attorney of Valerie Kiffin Lewis Law Firm, LLC, based in Plantation, Florida, which she established in 1996. The firm, which initially provided legal counsel to public and private organizations, as well as individual clients, with a focus on employment-related matters, now, focuses, primarily, on providing alternative dispute resolution services to the legal community and general public.

For over 30 years, Ms. Kiffin Lewis' practice was noted for representing clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC") and litigating claims involving labor laws, as well as civil rights and employment statutes. She has also represented clients in cases involving personal injury, and general negligence.

In 2000, Ms. Kiffin Lewis founded The Resolution Group ("TRG"), a mediation and arbitration company guided by the motto "Where Settlements Happen." The firm was dedicated to helping parties resolve disputes efficiently and amicably, even in the most complex of cases.

Since 1996, she has served as a certified mediator for Florida's 17th Judicial Circuit Court and, since 2004, as an arbitrator. She has also worked as a contract mediator for the EEOC since the inception of its mediation program in 1999, helping parties amicably resolve workplace disputes.

Ms. Kiffin Lewis' legal career spans over four decades. She began her professional journey in 1983 with the U.S. Postal Service, advancing from distribution clerk to equal employment opportunity counselor and investigator. She later served as labor relations assistant before taking on roles in private practice. Prior to founding her firm, she served as judicial staff attorney for Florida's 17th Judicial Circuit, and as associate counsel for the law firm of Sparkman, Robb, Nelson & Mason.

Her academic path began at The Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978. Her initial pursuit was fashion design, however, her passion for justice led her to obtain a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Nova Southeastern University in 1989. While in law school, she was active as a legal research assistant and board editor for the Moot Court Society. She was also a recipient of numerous scholarships. including the Earl Warren and Krekstein Scholarships, and earned Dean's List honors.

Ms. Kiffin Lewis is admitted to practice by the Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. She is a Florida Supreme Court-Qualified Arbitrator, and Certified Mediator, with credentials in Circuit Civil, Family, Dependency, and County Court mediation.

Ms. Kiffin Lewis has held leadership roles in numerous professional and civic organizations. She has served as Grievance Committee Chair for the Florida Bar and is a mediator for its ACAP program. She has also served as Vice President of the Black Law Student Association. For over 20 years, she served on the Mediator Qualifications Board at the Florida Dispute Resolution Center. She currently serves on the membership committee for Business Network International Global, LLC ("BNI"). She is a panel member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals ("NADN", and the American Arbitration Association ("AAA"). Ms. Kiffin Lewis' contributions extend beyond her professional endeavors through civic associations, chairing the board of Deliver the Dream.

Among her accolades, Ms. Kiffin Lewis has been named among the Top 100 National Black Lawyers, inducted into the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, and honored as Mediator of the Year for both 2024 and 2025. She was also recognized as a Lawyer of Distinction in 2025.
