Mr. Downes's career trajectory also included serving as the managing director at KK Lodgit Ltd. from 2008 to 2010 and as the chief executive officer at FreightWatch International between 1998 and 2003. His earlier experience as a national security manager and head of group security at TNT in Ireland from 1994 to 1998, which was the largest transport operator in Europe and the 4th largest freight integrator in the world at that time, laid the foundation for his expertise in corporate security.

Besides his civilian work, Mr. Downes's professional journey is deeply rooted in his 14 years of military service with the Irish Defense Forces, Infantry and Irish Special Forces, anti terrorist unit, the Army Ranger Wing.
