Also a federally funded researcher, Dr. Singh has written and contributed to more than 60 influential publications, many of which have been highly cited by fellow researchers on Google Scholar. In 2006, he unearthed a major discovery that led him to visit the White House and meet President George W. Bush in 2007.
In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Singh is an active member of several professional organizations, including the RNA Society , the American Society for Microbiology and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. His contributions to science have been recognized with prestigious awards such as 2006 Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the highest civilian award given by the United States Federal Government to young researchers, and the Salsbury Endowment from Iowa State University in 2008.
Dr. Singh's scholastic background includes a doctorate in biochemistry from the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1993, a master's degree in biochemistry from Banaras Hindu University in 1985 and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Banaras Hindu University in 1983. Along with his education, he attributes his success to effective teamwork with his wife and the guidance of mentors who have played a vital role in shaping his career.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Singh is passionate about flying airplanes and learning different languages. He holds a private pilot license and plans to continue exploring these interests alongside his wife and family while traveling the world.
