FERGUSON, MO, May 21, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Heather Robinett has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. A distinguished telecommunications professional, Ms. Robinett has served as the director of operations strategy at AT&T since 2020. Her boss created this position specifically for her because he valued her expertise. In this role, Ms. Robinett and her team focus on project planning and ensuring operational needs are met for upcoming tech insertions. They develop strategies to ensure effective project management, assess proficiency within the organization and provide stakeholders with the necessary resources for their work, which includes automation and programming support.
Ms. Robinett takes pride in collaborating with her team on various projects, advocating for women in tech, and being an active member of several employee resource groups. As AT&T's Women in Tech national vice president of mentoring, she dedicated many hours to developing a technical mentoring program. Additionally, she attended conferences with upper management to encourage them to sign up for mentoring circles, ultimately convincing 63 leaders to mentor nearly 1000 in the program. Furthermore, she participated in the National Girl Scout convention in Salt Lake City, where she served as a STEM leader for AT&T, one of the event's sponsors.
Ms. Robinett joined AT&T in 2001 as an automation programmer in network operations. In 2007 she became an area manager for network surveillance automation and remained in this role until 2017 when she became the company's director of software architecture and systems engineering. She began her career as a co-op program participant at Monsanto, where she was a technical programmer from 1993 to 1994. She then held roles as an advanced product support operations engineer at Wiltel from 1994 to 1997 and a consulting network engineer and senior technical staff member at Savvis from 1997 to 2001.
Ms. Robinett's educational background includes a master's degree in information systems from the University of Phoenix, obtained in 2008, and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, completed in 1995. Her academic achievements have provided a strong foundation for her career, enabling her to foster a nurturing environment where mistakes are accepted and individuals are motivated to reach their full potential.
In addition to her career accomplishments, Ms. Robinett is actively involved in civic organizations. She recently completed nine years on Ferguson's City Council. She served as a board member for the Ferguson Youth Initiative and a community garden co-leader for Old Ferguson West Community Gardens. Her commitment to education is evident through her mentorship with the We Teach Science Foundation from 2014 to 2017. From 2012 to 2017, she held an additional community garden co-leader role at Central Elementary School.
Ms. Robinett's contributions have been recognized with several awards, including the National Diversity and Inclusion Award from AT&T in 2018 and a community award from the Earthdance Organic Teaching Farm in Ferguson, Missouri in 2010. She has also been acknowledged at the National Employee Resource Group Meeting in Dallas and received Junior Achievement awards from AT&T.
As an author, Ms. Robinett has shared her insights through articles such as "How Reskilling in STEM Propelled This Woman Into Politics," which was published in Forbes in 2019. She had two articles featured in the Huffington Post, "How One Day Can Change the Game for Girls in STEM," published in 2015, and "4 Things I Tell My Kids About STEM (As Recalled By My First-Grader)," published in 2014.
Outside of her professional life, Ms. Robinett enjoys spending time at her lake house and cross-stitching. She is committed to remaining actively involved in her community, working with Boards and Commissions and engaging with youth to help them stay on a positive path. She cherishes time with her family, including her husband, five children and two grandchildren.
