WALDORF, MD, May 21, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Latavia S. Alexander, Esq., has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Alexander is the owner and principal attorney of LA Legal Solutionz, which she established in 2021. Her practice focuses on assisting entrepreneurs and individuals in building and protecting their legacies through business formation, entity structuring, trademark registration, and licensing. Additionally, she provides comprehensive estate planning services, including trusts, wills, power of attorney, advanced medical directives and estate administration. With clients in Maryland and North Carolina, Ms. Alexander is recognized for her expertise in estate planning and business law.
Before establishing her firm, Ms. Alexander served as assistant general counsel at the U.S. Department of Defense from 2023 to 2025. She received recognition for her contributions during her tenure, including the Rising Star Award and the Rising Junior Attorney Award in 2024. Prior to this role, she was an attorney at Axiom from 2020 to 2022 and a managing attorney at Resolexions from 2014 to 2021. Between 2017 and 2020, she held positions as a staff attorney at Community Legal Services of Prince George's County Inc., deputy Title IX and EEO coordinator at Morgan State University, director of compliance at Stevenson University and contract attorney at Beacon Hill Staffing Group.
In 2014, Ms. Alexander joined North Carolina Central University as a student conduct officer, advancing to director of student conduct in 2015 and remaining in that role until 2016. While these were not traditional law positions, they required legal expertise since she managed disciplinary matters that often involved hearings. These hearings were academic in nature but included adversarial components that resembled courtroom proceedings, allowing Ms. Alexander to utilize her legal skills.
Ms. Alexander's early career included roles as a contract attorney at UnitedLex from 2013 to 2014 and at Brownlee Law Firm from 2012 to 2013. At North Carolina Central University, she was an athletic compliance extern in 2012 and an assistant community director from 2010 to 2012. She began her journey in law with a legal internship at Lowe's Home Improvement in 2011. Her diverse experiences have equipped her with a broad understanding of various legal domains, contributing to her current success.
Ms. Alexander's academic background is equally impressive. She earned a Master of Laws with a concentration in corporate law and finance from Widener University–Delaware Campus in 2017 and a Juris Doctor from the North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2012. In 2009, she received a Bachelor of Arts with concentrations in communication and strategic and organizational communications from Temple University. Ms. Alexander holds certifications as a Title IX Investigator from the Association of Title IX Administrators and a Superior Court Mediation Certificate from the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission.
Ms. Alexander is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the Maryland State Bar Association, the Charles County Bar Association, the Association for Student Conduct Administrators, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and the NAACP. Her commitment to civic engagement is evident through her volunteer work with the Maryland Center for Legal Assistance and the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service. Additionally, she is a Can Do Outreach board member.
Ms. Alexander was first inspired to pursue a career in law when she learned about the Civil Rights Movement. Recognizing the impact individuals like Thurgood Marshall and others like him made, she knew she wanted to help people and make a difference. She was committed to learning and understanding the law so she could present knowledge to others in a manner they could understand and use to protect themselves and their families. Her dedication to sharing knowledge is evident on her website, also called LA Legal Solutionz, where she posts articles about estate planning and business. She also hosts "Legacy Conversations," a monthly webinar streamed on Facebook that aims to educate the public about estate planning.
A career highlight for Ms. Alexander was successfully advocating for clients to secure a trademark registration despite opposition. After working with these clients for over a year and advocating on their behalf, she was able to help them secure the trademark and continue growing their business. She attributes her success to her ability to connect with others and make them feel valued. Most of her business has come from word-of-mouth referrals, which speaks to her strong interpersonal skills. Additionally, she acknowledges the positive influence of her parents and several mentors who shaped her professional journey.
The proud mother of a two-year-old daughter, Ms. Alexander enjoys spending time with family, traveling and making jewelry. Looking ahead, she plans to expand the educational and philanthropic components of her business by offering pro bono services through clinics for low-income individuals who cannot afford legal services. She aims to educate the community about estate planning while building a team to provide free legal services to those in need.
