Currently, she is working on launching a groundbreaking Global Survivor Leader Certification program designed to address critical needs within communities, showcasing her innovative and solution-oriented approach. In addition, she is building a jail re-entry program to coordinate comprehensive wraparound services for women-identifying individuals in jails. This initiative reflects her commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and creating pathways for empowerment and rehabilitation, further solidifying her dedication to driving meaningful change in her community.
Alicia Tappan's academic achievements have played a significant role in her success. Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate in Forensic Psychology from Walden University, a Master of Arts in International Psychology from The Chicago School in 2013, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of West Florida in 2009. She holds Reiki practitioner and yoga instructor certifications from the Samadhi Center for Yoga.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Alicia Tappan is deeply committed to civic engagement. She is a hired consultant and trainer for Waterfront Rescue Mission, Lakeview Center, Escambia County Jail, and several others. She is actively involved with several industry-related organizations, such as United Ministries, Santa Rosa County Jail, Children's Home Society, Favor House and Opening Doors Northwest Florida. She serves as the Alumni Chapter President of the Eta Iota Eta Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and the 2024-2026 President of Pensacola Women's Alliance. She is a Storytelling Solutions of America member and a member of the Circuit One Human Trafficking Task Force. She has contributed to the Mount Saint Vincent and Johnson & Wales University lacrosse team pumpkin decorating event, Project Angel Heart meal bag decorating events, and Earth Day clean-ups since 2013. In 2014, she served as an outreach coordinator for a local congressional campaign. Her dedication to community service is further highlighted by her receipt of the Coach Mentor Award from the Pensacola Dream Center in 2018 and the George Washington Honor Medal in 2024.
