BALTIMORE, MD, May 22, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Richard P. Kamenitzer has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Kamenitzer has made significant contributions to the field of arts management and education, particularly through his association with George Mason University. As the program director emeritus and associate professor emeritus of arts management at the College of Visual and Performing Arts, he dedicated nine years to the institution from 2004 to 2013. During this period, he guided students who aspired to manage symphony orchestras, theaters, dance organizations, museums or art galleries and mentored those aiming to develop new performing arts centers. Notably, Mr. Kamenitzer imparted deep expertise in governance and finance, which is invaluable to these individuals seeking to organize, fundraise and establish, as well as nurture, governing boards.

Even after his official retirement in July 2013, Mr. Kamenitzer has remained actively involved in academia by offering remote classes to graduate students who require specific course content necessary to complete their degrees. His commitment to education is further demonstrated by his willingness to teach small groups of students in specialized programs focused on arts management. Additionally, Mr. Kamenitzer provides part-time consultation through The Bright Solutions, LLC, reflective of his persistent dedication to the field.

Exceptional academic credentials forged a solid foundation for Mr. Kamenitzer's advancement. He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Seton Hall University in 1968, followed by a Bachelor of Laws in American law and procedure from LaSalle Extension University in 1971. Furthermore, Mr. Kamenitzer secured a Master of Business Administration in quantitative analysis from Seton Hall University in 1972, as well as doing post-graduate work in higher education administration at New York University.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. Kamenitzer is a prolific researcher and scholar. In 1971, he published an article titled "New Jersey Community Colleges Spend Money Wisely" in the McGraw-Hill publication College and University Business. This work was the result of Mr. Kamenitzer's comprehensive research and development of a cost accounting system that enabled colleges to track expenses from student admission through graduation, facilitating informed decision-making regarding student placement.

Throughout his career, Mr. Kamenitzer has made meaningful contributions to various civic organizations. He currently serves on the boards of the International Youth Peace Forum, the Center for Bridging Cultures and is an officer of the National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture, and he humbly supports his local church. Mr. Kamenitzer's dedication to both professional excellence and personal fulfillment is underscored by the Jinx Hazel Award awarded by Arts Fairfax (Virginia) for his contribution to the arts in that region which he received in 2014.

Mr. Kamenitzer credits his success to the careful pursuit of both short and long-term objectives and the careful assessment of opportunities to both contribute to and benefit from the people and organizations with which one comes in contact. He also acknowledges his faith as well as the positive influence of his mentors William F. Reeder, a renowned arts manager and international opera singer, Raymond G. Chambers, a dedicated philanthropist, and Father Mychal Judge, a Franciscan priest and friend.

Notably, Mr. Kamenitzer counts being a father, grandfather and devoted husband as his most important roles. To achieve balance, he enjoys reading, watching black-and-white movies and attending artistic exhibits and dance performances. Looking toward the future, Mr. Kamenitzer envisions himself presenting lectures aimed at improving governance within the not-for-profit sector to partner with others in creating enduring legacies and ensuring board members fully understand their responsibilities.
