Prior to his tenure at Wipro, he served as sales director for communication technology providers at Tech Mahindra Limited from 2021 to 2022, where he was instrumental in enhancing the company's market presence.
Mr. Gupta's career trajectory includes significant achievements as a regional sales director at Infostretch, now Apexon, from 2020 to 2021. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, he successfully secured major accounts like Silicon Valley Bank and Qualcomm, growing these accounts to multi million dollar accounts by the end of 2021.
At Tata Communications Limited, where he was employed from 2005 to 2019, he excelled in various roles, including global account director for Microsoft and client director for Oracle and Apple. During his 14-year tenure with the company, he worked closely with major finance companies like Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank, all of which were building large private clouds globally. He significantly increased revenue from $2 million in 2013 to $72 million by 2017 and grew the team from one person to over 100 across various global locations by 2017.
Mr. Gupta began his career in a pre-sales consulting and solution architect role at a startup called Tirumala Seven Hills. There, his responsibilities involved engineering and creating IT solutions for customers and collaborating with the backend engineering and delivery teams to ensure solutions were tailored to meet customer needs.
Mr. Gupta earned a master's degree in telecommunications management from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2004 and a bachelor's degree in electronics engineering from the Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology in 2002. His academic background laid a strong foundation for his career, equipping him with the technical expertise necessary for his telecommunications and IT solutions roles.
In addition to his formal education, Mr. Gupta has obtained several certifications that have furthered his professional development. These include cloud practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services Inc., Nutanix Certified Sales Representative Level 1 from Nutanix and Cisco Certified Network Associate Service Provider from Cisco Systems Inc. His determination and perseverance have been key factors in his success, allowing him to navigate challenges and secure significant deals throughout his career.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Gupta is actively involved in civic activities and serves as a parent volunteer within the Santa Clara School District. He has been recognized with numerous awards throughout his career, including five ProClub awards and accolades for best global account management team and best account manager in the corporate segment from Tata Communications Limited.
In his personal time, Mr. Gupta enjoys spending time with family, playing cricket, hiking, biking and taking day trips. Looking ahead, he aims to open large hyperscaler customers and grow them into a value between $50 million and $100 million accounts while continuing to thrive at Astreya, where he has found a positive company culture and established strong connections with senior leadership.
