OAKLAND, CA, May 22, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patrick I. Okosodo has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Okosodo has carved a distinguished career in the field of energy finance, demonstrating exceptional expertise. As a senior associate at Carbon Reduction Capital LLC (CRC-IB), he is responsible for developing financial models to assess the viability of renewable energy projects. His role involves engaging with potential investors to align investment criteria with project needs and facilitating the transaction process to ensure successful closure and capital allocation to project developers. He has leveraged his skills in tax equity financing, equity sell-down and debt financing for several projects in the U.S. totaling more than 6 gigawatts of solar and battery energy storage systems, comprising utility-scale, distributed generation, and community solar assets. Prior to stepping into his current position, he spent two years as an investment banking associate and three years as an investment banking analyst at CRC-IB, roles in which he gained valuable experience in evaluating financial opportunities within the energy sector.
Before joining CRC-IB, Mr. Okosodo was a business analyst in the energy and power division at Fidelity Bank PLC, focusing on analyzing market trends and providing strategic insights for energy projects. His career began in the oil and gas industry as a client relationship manager at Diamond Bank PLC, where he managed relationships with upstream clients. His journey also included a tenure as a sky logistics and security supervisor at Edinburgh International. He initially entered the workforce as a high school teacher at St. Thomas' College in Ibusa, Nigeria, where he discovered his passion for teaching that continues to influence his long-term career aspirations.
Mr. Okosodo's success in energy finance grew out of his early childhood experiences. Born in Nigeria, he experienced the challenges of an unreliable power supply, often having access to electricity for only a few hours per day. Witnessing such limitations ignited his passion for the energy sector and compelled him to expand his knowledge, build a network and accept challenges in the field. Today, he is committed to ensuring that future generations have a better experience with energy accessibility than he did.
With several notable energy projects to his credit, Mr. Okosodo has made significant contributions to the renewable energy, upstream oil and gas, and oil and gas midstream industries. Among these achievements, he participated in the equity sell-down of four portfolios totaling approximately 110MW, encompassing over 200 distributed generation projects across numerous U.S. states. Likewise, he delved into strategic participation in key transactions supporting resource acquisition, infrastructure expansion and financial risk mitigation for the Greenfield and Brownfield acquisition and development project, as well as structured and participated in the negotiation of other financial instruments needed to support companies providing services to oil and gas projects. Furthermore, he helped in the funding of the engineering, procurement and construction of a gas supply pipeline and the construction, installation, testing and commissioning of another pipeline. Mr. Okosodo's accomplishments in the gas and oil sector have contributed significantly to the participation and financial acquisitions of several entities, ensuring sustained project execution and cash flow stability.
Mr. Okosodo earned a Master of Science in finance from the Hult International Business School in Boston in 2020, where he was recognized on the Dean's List and received the Outstanding Peer of the Year Award. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Benin in Edo, Nigeria, graduating in 2012 as a petroleum development trust fund scholar. His education has been complemented by several FINRA licenses, including Series 63 and Series 79, as well as certification as an Energy Risk Professional by the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
Mr. Okosodo's commitment to community service is evident through his involvement in church-related community projects and his past role as a teen mentor. His dedication extends beyond financial contributions; he volunteers his time for several initiatives, including participating in prison visits to support rehabilitation efforts. In recognition of his industry excellence and leadership prowess, he was honored with the Deals of the Year Award from Proximo in 2022.
Looking ahead, Mr. Okosodo aims to expand his professional network and play a significant role in financing energy projects across the United States, focusing on renewable energy and natural gas. He is committed to ensuring that these projects are viable for both local communities and foreign investors interested in supporting essential ventures. His long-term vision includes transferring his knowledge and connections to regions lacking energy infrastructure, thereby improving access to reliable power sources globally.
