During her successful progression there, she refined her broad abilities to deliver tailored support services and gained valuable knowledge about how students interact with their campus.

Ms. Gutierrez earned an associate degree from Kellogg Community College, after which she pursued further undergraduate studies. A passion for civic service drives Ms. Gutierrez to remain actively involved in organizations such as Rotary International; she also volunteers for a range of charities to make a positive impact beyond her professional endeavors. Additionally, she maintains a wide network through membership in the Council for Opportunity in Education, which provides opportunities to expand her influence within the field of student support services.

Looking toward the future, she aims to expand the TRIO program at Albion College, and in partnership with her staff, she will continue to pursue the objectives of the supporting grant. Ms. Gutierrez also aims to start graduate studies toward a master's degree to set a strong example for those she leads while taking on more leadership roles within the college, the TRIO program and the community.
