Ms. Tilstra, a distinguished professional in human resources and banking, has made significant contributions to her field over the course of her career. As president of Strategic HR Partners LLC since 2022, she has been instrumental in training human resources professionals in key areas, such as behavioral interviewing, onboarding processes and performance reviews. In addition, her leadership training programs are particularly focused on the banking sector, where she offers three distinct training modules. Her expertise is further recognized through her affiliation with the Center for Financial Training and the Financial Leaders Institute and her membership in the Society for Human Resource Management.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Tilstra served as an instructor at Ocean County College from 2020 to 2023, where she was part of the Workforce & Professional Education Division. In this capacity, she facilitated programs in Leadership and Management Training, Interviewing Skills, Performance Management, and Business Communication for organizations throughout Ocean and Monmouth Counties.

Previously, she held the position of senior vice president and director of human resources at Atlantic Stewardship Bank, where she played a pivotal role during a period of significant organizational growth. Under her leadership, the bank expanded from 25 employees to 150 across 12 branches. She was instrumental in developing a strong lending department, a high-performing customer service center, and an effective branch administration network. Ms. Tilstra takes particular pride in recruiting and mentoring talented professionals, many of whom have advanced into officer-level roles.

Ms. Tilstra began her career at First Fidelity Bank, N.A., where she served from 1982 to 1992 as Vice President and Manager of Employment and Employee Relations. In this role, she oversaw three employment divisions responsible for staffing the bank's branch network throughout northern New Jersey and managed a wide range of human resources issues and employee concerns.

Academically, Ms. Tilstra earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1995 and completed coursework at the Center for Financial Training. Beyond her formal education, she attributes much of her success to the guidance she received from remarkable individuals early in her career.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Tilstra is actively involved in civic organizations. She has served as a workshop facilitator for Renew Life Center's Jobs for Life Program that focuses on "Moving Families from Surviving to Thriving" since 2022 and as a training specialist and seminar leader for Dress for Success Northern New Jersey beginning in the same year. Her contributions have been recognized with the Tribute to Women and Industry Honorary award.

In her personal life, Ms. Tilstra prioritizes her role as a wife and mother and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Looking ahead, she plans to expand her business, continue her professional endeavors and maintain her involvement in volunteer work.
