MCLEAN, VA, May 29, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Candice Lee Byrnes has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on 20 years of experience as the director of special projects at RAMCO of Virginia Inc., Ms. Byrnes has established a prominent career in project management and development. In her role, she expertly navigates the complexities of county and state regulations and prepares essential permit documentation for her clients, who are primarily involved in real estate development. Her responsibilities include ensuring that all necessary forms are completed and submitted to the county and the Virginia Department of Transportation, facilitating a seamless approval procedure. Her extensive experience in the commercial sector — particularly in multifamily projects — allows her to efficiently manage these processes and alleviate client concerns.

Prior to her tenure at RAMCO of Virginia, Ms. Byrnes contributed significantly to the Hazel & Thomas Law Firm from 1988 to 2005, which later became part of Reed Smith LLP. During this period, she played a crucial role in assisting large builders and developers in Northern Virginia by processing site plans and securing permits from the Virginia Department of Transportation. Her expertise in coordinating with various stakeholders ensured that projects commenced smoothly and adhered to regulatory requirements.

Ms. Byrnes began her storied career with Fairfax County's Department of Environmental Management, where she started as an administrative technician in 1971. Over the years, she advanced to become the assistant branch chief of code enforcement and also served as the acting branch chief of crime control before departing in 1988. Her time with Fairfax County provided her with invaluable insights into governmental operations and laid the groundwork for her future success in project management.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Byrnes is a licensed land disturber, a certification that underscores her commitment to responsible land management practices. Her qualification is particularly relevant given Virginia's stringent stormwater management programs, which require developers to have a responsible land disturber on site during construction. By carefully monitoring sites during times of heavy rainfall, she assesses and documents any damage caused to a project and implements solutions to rectify it.

Academically, Ms. Byrnes earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Methodist University in 1971. Though her educational pursuits initially led her toward a career in counseling, she found her true calling in project management while working with Fairfax County. The sociology skills she acquired during her studies have been vital in her ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients alike.

Ms. Byrnes attributes much of her success to the work ethic instilled by her parents during her upbringing as an only child. Their influence has been a guiding force throughout her career, driving her dedication and perseverance in every endeavor she undertakes. She is equally grateful to have had outstanding mentors — particularly Stuart Terrett, the director of her division at Fairfax County, and Henry Schenke, a former supervisor — who provided invaluable inspiration and guidance.

Beyond her professional life, Ms. Byrnes has been involved with past advisory boards in Fairfax County, reflecting her commitment to civic engagement and community development. In her personal time, she enjoys working outside in her yard, walking and caring for her rescue dog, a Jack Russell Terrier. Looking to the future with determination, she remains focused on maintaining an active lifestyle and continuing to enjoy her work at RAMCO of Virginia with no immediate plans for retirement.
