BOUNTIFUL, UT, May 29, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kevin Murray has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Murray, a partner at Holland & Hart LLP since 2013, has dedicated his career to addressing complex environmental and legal challenges associated with mining operations. With more than 40 years of experience in the field, he has been instrumental in cleaning up historical environmental issues and engaging with regulatory bodies and local stakeholders to ensure compliance and facilitate redevelopment. His expertise extends to addressing the unique legacy impacts of uranium mining, making him a respected figure in environmental law.
Mr. Murray began the practice of law in Texas before relocating to the Rocky Mountains where he served as a partner at Parry Murray Ward and Lawrence from 1991 to 1997, LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae from 1997 to 2006, and then at Chapman and Cutler LLP from 2007 to 2013, where he specialized in environmental, energy and real estate development law. His work in these roles laid the foundation for his later achievements, including the transformation of the Bingham Junction site into a successful mixed-use development, one which the EPA recognizes as a model for redevelopment projects.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Murray has contributed significantly to academia as an adjunct professor of law at the University of Utah since 2007 and at Brigham Young University from 1990 to 2022. His involvement in professional organizations is extensive; he served as past president of the American College of Environmental Lawyers and is a member of the American Law Institute, the Environmental Law Institute, The American Bar Foundation, and the Environmental Energy and Resources Section of the American Bar Association.
Mr. Murray's educational background includes a Juris Doctor from Brigham Young University Law School, cum laude in 1984 and a Bachelor of Arts in organizational communications from Brigham Young University, cum laude in 1981. He attributes his success to key influences in his life, including his high school teacher Joanne Cowan, his law school professor Eugene Jacobs and his legal mentor Barry Knight. These individuals, along with his family and colleagues, provided essential support and encouragement throughout his educational and professional journey.
Well-regarded for his contributions to the industry, Mr. Murray sits on the board of editors for the Natural Resource and Energy Journal and is heavily published including two books on environmental issues. Working with these publications reflects his commitment to advancing knowledge in his field.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Murray enjoys woodworking, building furniture, boating, photography, astronomy and stargazing. He values spending time with his family at their cabin.
