With a focus on property management, environmental cleanup and entitlement, Mr. Hanson has established a remarkable career in real estate consulting. Since 2010, he has served as a consultant and principal at Westwind 30 Consulting, where he applies decades of expertise in project management and analysis, environmental development, privatization and public engagement. His dedication to these areas and more has earned him widespread recognition as an expert in the consulting realm.

Prior to joining Westwind 30 Consulting, Mr. Hanson was the general manager at Universal Paragon Corporation from 2005 to 2009. During this time, he oversaw all aspects of the company's operations in Northern California while managing the finance, asset management and engineering teams. His leadership and strategic vision were vital in driving the organization's growth and success.

From 1979 to 2004, Mr. Hanson served as the development manager for Jack London Square at the Port of Oakland. This role marked a significant milestone in his career as he successfully transformed the area into a vibrant mixed-use retail development. He was involved in every phase of the project, from planning and permitting to managing entitlements and negotiating leases. Notably, he played a key role in establishing ferry service between Oakland and San Francisco following an earthquake, collaborating with the City of Alameda to secure federal and state funding for the operation.

Mr. Hanson laid a strong foundation for his storied career through his academic achievements. He earned a Master of Public Administration in public finance in 1979 and a bachelor's degree in recreation administration, both from California State University, East Bay. He funded his education through his work with the City of Oakland Park and Recreation Department, where he gained valuable early experience managing city swimming pools and securing grants for programs that supported individuals with disabilities.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Hanson has been actively involved in various industry-related organizations such as the Brisbane Chamber of Commerce, the Urban Land Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the Bay Area Council. His commitment to civic engagement is equally evident through his current roles as president and board member of USS Potomac Association (FDR's presidential yacht) since 2021 and past president of the Lake Merritt Breakfast Club as well as current president of the club's foundation since 2020. He also serves as vice chair of Civicorps and has been involved with his church as a Sunday School teacher.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Hanson is happily married and a proud father of two boys and two step-daughters. In the coming years, he intends to remain actively involved in nonprofit organizations, working toward their success and assisting in ongoing fundraising efforts. Additionally, he is committed to maintaining his health and pursuing travel opportunities while ensuring that operations continue to run smoothly within the organizations he supports.
